This will be my fifth pair of these shoes over the years... (1 black 4 white).

I have plantar fasciitis and these are the only shoes I have found that enable me to walk about a mile per day without pain. I also need "2oz miracle" inserts in all shoes that I wear. I have spent so much money over the years on shoes that seemed comfortable when I first tried them on but after a few hours or definitely after walking any distance in them I was in agony.

I know everyone has different issues with foot pain but for me these are the best shoes I've come across.

Great comfort. I have the 811 velcro-fastened shoes as well. Both are good shoes, but I must admit that I find myself reaching for the velcros because they are almost like slip-ons. I have excessive pronation and the 811s compensate nicely for that - My podiatrist had suggested this specific model and she was right! Either lace-up or velcro, you can't miss with these shoes. I will be buying more!

I wear a 10 1/2 women's medium. I need a large toe box for my medium width but I have a very very narrow heel. I never find shoes that fit! New balance is one of the few shoes that can handle a mixed last (they call it DSL-2) like I have in a large half size. For almost ten years now this is the only shoe I wear when I walk 1-3 miles a few times a week or occasionally run on a treadmill. These shoes can handle long walks or short runs with no problem. I have never had a manufacturing defect or a failure in the shoe. Never a blister or pain. However, I do notice after about four to six months of wear the padding compresses and is no longer as effective. Then I simply order my new pair and throw out the old ones. I will be one desperate woman if they ever stop making this shoe.

Bought these for walking as they are good for overpronators. A few day breaking in period is advised. I think New Balance overall run a bit small so I ordered up 1/2 size and they are a perfect fit. Also room for my orthotic inserts.

I wear size 10.5 AAAA so it's really, really hard to find shoes that fit. These do. I tend to stumble in most of my "regular" shoes because I am trying to get by with AAA shoes that are too wide. The "roll bar" in these shoes really helps keep me upright with no ankle turning.

My wife is a walker and having previously bought New Balance with long term satisfaction ordered the WW811. These arrived and to her surprise found these are made in the United States! She has narrow feet, wears 8AA. Sometimes she finds it difficult to get a pair in that size that she likes. These shoes are a winner, says these are most comfortable and true to size. The reason I am writing this review is because she had made so many positive comments compared with other walking shoe purchases. Just thought this might be a little help is someone else has had the same past experience.

I should preface this review with the statement that I do have a painful medical problem in my left foot. My podiatrist recommended New Balance 811. I am only a little pleased with them as I expected my feet to be well padded by them. They do provide excellent support but I still have to wear pads. They are comfortable
on my "good" foot.On my bad foot ... I am resigned to the fact that nothing will be perfect.

I love New Balance shoes. They are lightweight and comfortable right out of the box. These would have gotten 5 stars except for the tongue of the shoe shifts around making them a little uncomfortable as the day goes along unless you shift the tongue back where it belongs. The little slot that you lace through is too low on the tongue to be effective. My last pair did not have this problem and I will look more carefully at this on my next purchase of New Balance shoes. The stability control is wonderful. Being on my feet all day makes that a great addition.

I am on my second pair. The first pair is still good after 2 years of straight wear except when wearing a dress etc.They are comfortable, stylish enough to wear with dress pants. I wear orthopedic inserts with them and the two combined is what keeps me on my feet all day. They were recomended by my orthopedic doctor and he sure knows his stuff. I did need to buy an 1/2 size larger to accomodate the inserts but a 9.5 would be great if not for that. Seems to run true to size and I highly recommend them to anyone with feet and back problems.

I have a wide foot and New Balance is one of only a few shoe distributors that offer a wide toe box. The shoes are extremely comfortable and I liked it so well I bought in the cream color as well to wear with Khaki pants. I wear them all day at work and walk my 3 dogs about 2 miles per day in them and haven't experienced any problems with wear/tear, etc. I highly recommend these shoes!
