5.0 out of 5 stars My feet have a new best friend!
"For the past 12 years, I have used lightweight tennies or trail sandals while in a rocky-bottomed river. Both types of shoes accumulated pebbles and gravel inside. The tennies wore blisters and took forever to dry. And the sandals came apart in the water. I tried these shoes, to my unimagined delight.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too wide for me.
I always only wear New Balance so I was excited to see that they made a water shoe. Many reviews had suggested that I buy a 1/2 size larger than I usually wear. I bought the 7 1/2 rather than a 7. In length the shoes fit however they were too wide and my foot slipped alot (I do have a pretty narrow foot though). The only way to get the shoe not to slip was to tie it...

I wore the New Balance 920 shoes in the river for 10 days, without once having to adjust or dump stones or gravel out my shoes. The water drains from them perfectly - no squishing at all. And by morning, they are dry from the previous day's adventures, so they go on comfortably. The New Balance water shoes have a thick sole that cushions the feet from all those rocks, as well as other dangers in the water. They have a soft lining that will not rub sore spots or blisters. They also provide good arch support. These shoes are very comfortable; I could wear them all day. They exceeded all my expectations.

Since the price has dropped, I am ordering another pair just to have as a backup for the day when my current pair wears out. I don't want to wear any other shoe in the water ever again.

I usually wear an 8-1/2 shoe (sometimes a 9), and I found a size 9 to be perfect in these water shoes."

3.0 out of 5 stars Too wide for me., September 15, 2009

I always only wear New Balance so I was excited to see that they made a water shoe. Many reviews had suggested that I buy a 1/2 size larger than I usually wear. I bought the 7 1/2 rather than a 7. In length the shoes fit however they were too wide and my foot slipped alot (I do have a pretty narrow foot though). The only way to get the shoe not to slip was to tie it as tight as I could which made the mesh pull and pucker which didn't look good. All and all it would have been a great shoe, just not for my foot. I ended up sending the shoes back and getting the New Balance 820 water shoe, it worked must better for my narrow foot.

4.0 out of 5 stars New Balance Swim Shoe, October 20, 2009

This review is from: New Balance Women's SW920 Outdoor Water Shoe (Apparel)
I really like these water shoes, just wish they were a little lighter, that's the reason I didnt give them a 5 star rating. I do water aerobics twice a week and these shoes are great for that. They have good traction and so far are holding up to the chlorine water.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pool shoes, June 18, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I use these everyday as I walk/run in the pool. Gripping the bottom of the pool is good, easy to put on and take off. I have never used them outside of the pool. Only drawback is they don't dry fast enough to use them the next day, I may invest in another pair to alternate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect shoe for water and running, April 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these shoes to train and wear during the GoRuck Challenge. The reason I chose this pair to try is that I have wide feet so I needed a wide shoe. I tried several pairs of shoes and these were the best by far in every aspect. I did replace the insole because I was walking/jogging with a heavy pack (35lbs), but it would probably be more than sufficient for walking, running or water activities.

Perfect for water activities and hiking. I wore these for a water activity one day, took out the insoles at night and left the shoes out to dry. Checked the shoes the next morning and they were DRY and ready to use for hiking. Best water/hiking shoe ever.. Very comfortable too!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice water shoes with support!, March 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I first tried out these shoes at my physical therapist while walking on a treadmill in the pool and they were very comfortable! I've been battling plantar fasciitis for months so was a little worried about the support these would offer, but they seemed fine, even when I was walking on land. I'm not sure if I would wear them for long periods of time if you have plantar fasciitis, but if you're looking for a pool shoe that offers some support, they're great! I ended up buying a pair of my own! I also like the fact that they're lightweight! I know they have holes to drain the water in, but when they're wet, they seem to slosh around a lot so it would be nice if there was a way to get even more water out of them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pool tool, March 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I originally loved these shoes but problem I have found with these shoes is that the laces broke really quickly. I only had the shoes for about 2 months. The design of the laces is such that you cannot change the lace on the show. Bad design. I am not crazy about the idea of having to find another pair of water shoes that are comfortable and durable for my needs. I take an aqua aerobics class 3 times a week.
