5.0 out of 5 stars Great craftmanship, February 16, 2009

New Balance never dissapoints me! I walk alot and over different types of terrain from the city to country hikes and the New Balance all terrain shoes are the best for the job. The arch support is excellent for those with higher arches and the shoe is a bit wider for all round comfort. As for durability these shoes can take it! They outlast the competition. I highly recomend them for anyone seeking comfort and a shoe that lasts.

3.0 out of 5 stars Runs A Whole Size Too Small, November 3, 2009

This review is from: New Balance Women's WT571 Outdoor All Terrain Trail Shoe (Apparel)
I bought these shoes for hiking and trail running and usually wear a size 8.5. Never having owned a pair of New Balance shoes, ordered an 8.5. They were way too small so I sent them back and had to pay for shipping. My toes were crushed against the front the shoe. But the price was great so I decided to give it another try and ordered a 9.5. I got them today.

What I like about them is all of the support and cushion in the front of the shoes for the balls of my feet-- something that Adidas shoes (the brand I've been wearing for years) lack. I also like the price, style and color so I'm going to keep them.
What I don't like is the fit. I think that I have an average foot--medium in the front with average heel and ankle size-- but the 9.5 seems too large in the heel and ankle areas and a 9 wouldn't provide enough room up front. I ordered the Gray & Green so maybe the fit varies by color since no one else seemed to mention the issues that I am having or maybe they are used to the NB fit. If you are like me, I recommend ordering a whole size larger if your usual size is a solid size like mine is (for example if you wear a size 8.5 and it usually fits perfectly) or a half size larger if your usual size varies down (for example if you wear an 8-8.5). Hope this helps and good luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Little Disappointed, November 5, 2009

I like the new Balance tennis shoes that I bought, they are very comfortable. Before purchasing them over the internet I went to a shoe store that handles the same shoes to make sure I had the correct size. After receiving my shoes and trying them on they were too small. I had to send them back to get the next size up. Unfortunately I could have purchased the shoes at a store cheaper than it cost me to purchase them at Amazon. I was very disappointed at that. I had to pay for the shipping to get them and then I had to send them back and it cost me another 23.00. The shoes only cost 54.00. I do not think I will ever purchase shoes on Amazon in the future.
