This is an excellent running shoe for someone who likes a soft cushioned sole and a roomy toe. I have worn them for 12 years and keep buying them again and again; I've tried other models and brands, but none of them has been this comfortable.

As noted, there is a lot of cushioning in the sole; I walk 2-4 miles a day in them on city pavement, and stand a lot in my job, and my feet don't feel achy at the end of the day. I have also worn them on multiple-mile hikes on varied terrain with a lot of comfort.

Many running shoes have a straight last, which for me means either that the toes are too narrow or the heels are too loose. The 882 has a wide, rounded toe so there is a lot of toe room while the heel still fits snugly. I haven't found many shoes designed that way, so if you have that kind of fit problem, you will love this shoe.

I also wash the shoes and they come out very well, and the non-slip laces don't come undone. Altogether, they are my favorite shoes for a wide variety of activities.

These are the best shoes for you if you are on your feet alot. I work in the warehouse of a hospital and I am constantly on my feet. The wide flat bottoms give excellent support. I recommended them to my co-workers and most of them wear them now too. Excellent quality shoes at a very convenient price.

These are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. I have a lot of foot problems from Rheumatoid Arthritis so that is saying quite a lot. I have always worn New Balance shoes but these are absolutely the best, light weight, very wide toe box, and not a bad price tag.

With all of the different styles available by New Balance alone, it is hard to commit to a decision. This is especially true when you are purchasing via Internet and cannot actually try the shoes on. With all that said, I love the choice I made. I have had the shoes for three weeks now and they have proved to be an excellent walking shoe. I walk both in the morning and at night at a fairly rapid pace. I am however, no athlete anymore. The WR882 is comfortable and sturdy. I feel I am getting excellent support and plenty of cushion. I hope to be able to continue using these shoes as I progress with my walking/running routine. I recommend these shoes to any other novice. Above novice I couldn't tell you. (The fact that they were maroon had my daughter listing these as my number one choice for our Aggie household)

Been running with these shoes for a while now and they are great for me. Was looking to replace the 889s from years ago and couldn't find anything comparable until these. Wide toe box and great mid sole support. I need this because I am short and my running style isn't the heel toe strike, mostly my whole foot hits the ground. I ordered a larger size because I like to wear thicker socks and I have just a little extra room with regular socks.

my wife lives and dies by her NB's. she puts over 500 miles a year on them, so its time for a new pair. unfortunately 882's are out and she has to go to the new format. a damn great shoe!!

These are very comfortable, true-to-size, and nice looking. I have plantars facaitis and I can wear these shopping and get along fine.
The toes show wear pretty quickly, but I would buy them again.

Bought the shoes for the "SL-2 last" fit and this shoe gives that with a very roomy toe box while keeping a good heel fit. Feels good overall to run in. I ordered the shoe 1 size larger than my dress shoe size which made them roomy but not oversized. The shoes are very flexible. I researched my needs, chose this shoe, and then looked online for the best price, and found it through Amazon. My only con is that it could be a little more cushioned for the pounding that running gives. I am now thinking of adding a gel insert.
