4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, **IF**
This can be a very good running shoe **IF** you pronate. There's a support on the inside of the shoe to help prevent this (and thus resulting problems). However if you do not (I don't), it can be quite uncomfortable.

Easy/cheat way to check - look at the soles of shoes you wear regularly. If they're worn to the insides (big toe side), then this might be the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the shoe for me
I bought this shoe after determining I had an over-pronation problem with my feet. I have flat arches, and my ankles roll in. According to some running shoe websites, this would be a good shoe for me. However, after running on my treadmill a few times, I couldn't run anymore because my calves and shins hurt so bad. I returned the shoes. Apparently they are not the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Many New Features On This Model!, June 24, 2009
By
R. Savini (GA, United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I did a lot or research on this shoe (and several other models) before buying. Some sales people were just telling me the higher number model means a better shoe but that is not really the case. You have to look at the individual features for what you are looking for. The only difference between this model and the new 769 (and an extra $75) basically boils down to more cushioning which can easily be remedied with an insert. That being said this has a lot of the new features like N-lock, stability web, the TS2 cushioning system, along with several abzorb features and a liner. I tend to lean towards the wider width but took a chance on the medium B width and they are more than roomy. They feel like a wide to me. For $35 this was the best shoe for the money. They are very comfortable and they provide the right stability if you pronate while remaining comfortable. They did take a few days to break in and for my legs to "align" themselves after being used to turning in my balance was off but after that they were fine. I say for $35 you cannot go wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for narrow feet!, April 28, 2009
I have narrow feet, especially the heel and have trouble finding shoes that fit comfortably. These shoes are comfortable and don't slip off my heel. My podiatrist recommended New Balance and said get something at least 700 (or higher) for good support and I can tell the difference between these and my last pair of tennis shoes. I have worn New Balance for a long time now since they are the only shoes to fit my narrow foot. But since these come in a 2A it's even better. If you have a narrow foot, especially a narrow heel, these shoes would be great for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Balance Women's WR768 Running Shoe,, February 15, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Super fast delivery. Shoe recommended by my Dr. It stabilizes my feet and I Have no pain. After a few weeks of wearing this shoe I find it hard to wear other types of shoes. However, they just don't look right with a dress.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love these shoes, October 31, 2008
By
L. Peppler (Pittsburgh, PA, USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I love these shoes. I just got them and haven't worn them a lot, but so far they are the most comfortable "tennis" shoes I've had in a long time. I am using them as regular every day walking/hiking shoes and don't intend to run a marathon or anything, but I am getting ready to walk an American Cancer Society 5K with my mom in a couple weeks and wanted good comfy shoes. I do know foot doctors/specialists don't recommend you wear running shoes for regular walking, but I was having SO much trouble finding a really good pair of walkers, and another mom recommended these. I have wide feet and their fit is perfect. (I did order the wide size.) One of their best features is that the seams are very cleanly done inside the shoe. It's terrible when you get a pair of relatively comfy shoes, but they have all these seams and edges right on pressure points like little toes/big toes that are constantly pushing on the inside of the shoe. These don't do that to my feet anyway.
For me, these shoes were a BIG splurge, 3 times what I would normally spend on my own shoes, but I am trying to get out there and walk every day, and when your shoes make your feet hurt it is harder to get motivated. These make my feet feel really good...So now I guess I have NO excuses do I...better get them on and go for a walk right now!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoe, But Watch Out For the Size, July 13, 2009
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great looking shoe and is also very comfortable. I got the shoe in Pink/White from Amazon. Although the "white" is more like a grey color. I knew that from the picture, and I preferred that since it will get less dirty looking. Thank God for Amazon, which offered this shoe at half the prize as big name shoe sellers.

As a vegetarian, I very much appreciate that this shoe is made from all man-made materials with no leather. The only thing I would caution about when buying a New Balance shoe, is to be aware that most of their shoes run at least 1/2 a size smaller than most every other shoe brand. All of my shoes are a size 8. However, with this shoe, even the 8 1/2 was too small. I had to go a full size bigger than normal to a size 9. Once I found the right size, I was very satisfied with this shoe.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THESE SHOES!!, August 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have big feet :) and I have severe back problems...those 2 issues make shoe buying quite a frustrating challenge! After a lot of research, I decided to buy these shoes as my everyday pair. I was a bit skeptical to buy shoes without having actually tried them on...but Amazon is really good about returns so I gave them a try. When they arrived I was so pleased! Not only are they surprisingly cute shoes, but they are SO COMFORTABLE!! They have really wonderful arch support and the feature in the heel where there is a cut-out and it kind of makes there be less of a jarring affect with each step (I'm not sure what the feature is called) works great! With each step you almost feel like your heel is being supported in a suction cup of sorts and floating on air instead of the typical hard feeling heel that causes your foot to hurt after a while. I wear these daily and they have been great for my back which is such a blessing! I would recommend these to anyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars For Over-Pronator's Only, August 14, 2009
I agree with Q on 10-10-08. I love New Balance shoes, however, this shoe was a disastrous fit for me. I was fitted at a local athletic shoe shop. The associate there put me on a treadmill and video recorded my feet as I ran on the treadmill. He played the video back and I watched it as he explained that the best shoe for me was one that corrected over-pronation. So I bought a New Balance 768. That was 10 months ago. The first few months I ran them on a treadmill and the last few months I ran them on asphalt. The shoe is slightly over-used at this point (I am petite and thin and can run a pair for 8 months at 12 miles per week.) These shoes have been nothing but trouble for me: foot pain, ankle pain, and pain along the outer shin. I would wake up in the morning hobbling like an 80 year old. I discovered today (at a different athletic shoe shop) that I do NOT over-pronate. The associate who sold me this shoe had me convinced I was in the proper fit. I thought all that agony was in my head! New Balance shoes are fantastic and I give them 5 stars; just be sure you get fitted properly! (Today, I bought a New Balance 758. PERFECT.)
