I bought this shoe because I needed a Velcro fastener due to arthritis. As it turned out, this is just a great shoe -- it provides wonderful support, feels light as a feather. I have custom made insoles, and these fit inside just perfectly. Really, it's just a perfect shoe! I might also say, in choosing it, because I bought the shoe online, I called New Balance first, to discuss size and features of the shoe. The customer service person was exceedingly knowledgeable (10 on a 10 point scale) and very courteous.

shoes are very comfortable i use inserts to give me even more support. i bought these because they are velcroed and they come in a D. when you have arthritis of your hands sometimes its hard to tie laces. the price was a little more than i wanted to pay but i most likely would buy them again.

The New Balance shoes are just what I needed and expected. They are super fits.

Lately, I had been literally limping along - I thought it was just a sprained ankle wreaking havoc - podiatrist said "Pronation" which I had never before had any reason to hear of - and recommended what I had always thought to be "old lady shoes." (Some parts of this aging Boomer stuff are less fun than others :-)
So, I broke down (pun intended) and, still and always the activist, got the "pink ribbon" pair of these. I'm having such a great time (like Joni sang o/~ You don't know what you've got `til it's gone o/~ like arches!) walking again that I am ordering another "back up" pair of these well-constructed, cozy, not-so-frumpy shoes!

shoes are comfortable. i bought them because they have a size D. they are a little too expensive but i guess i have to pay for comfort. am diabetic and have to have good shoes...............

I go to see an orthopedic MD specialist at Univ. of Iowa Hospitals for my plantar fascitiis that I have had for over 15 years. These are the shoes that is recommended to wear by him and the Physical Therapist. So I figure they must be good. I have been wearing them for years. I buy a new pair about every 6 months. My feet haven't been getting any better but at least they are not worse and I am doing them no harm by wearing these shoes. I wear these shoes all the time. I check the internet for the best price.

I was extremely happy with my New Balance shoes. I have problems with my fingers so the velcro is perfect. Delivery time was very fast.

I ordered because my job requires me to stay on my feet. My dr. suggested this brand of shoe. It's Ok, but not the best.

I purchased our first pair of the NB Women's WW811 Velcro Walking Shoe in '03 as a present for my wife who could no longer tie her shoes/sneakers as the result of a stroke. Right from the onset, she loved the feel, support, look, comfort and durability of this walking shoe. And even now in '10 after regaining most of her physical dexterity, has a pair on 75% of her waking hours. This is her eighth or ninth pair and as long as New Balance keeps this style in production, no doubt will continue to be an annual purchase for us.

This shoe is really comfortable, and fits well. The heal area fits so that the foot is not pulled out of the shoe to create friction- it simply holds the heel gently in place with comfort.
