Great Shoes!,
By
This review is from: New Balance Women's WW558 Walking Shoe (Apparel)
These are fantastic shoes! I have very hard feet to fit when it comes to shoes. My feet are not only very large, but I also have bunions that make finding a comfortable shoe pretty difficult. Fortunately, I found these New Balance shoes that had wide widths. I did even have to go through a "break in" period with them. The first time that I put them on they were comfortable! I am on my feet all day long, working in a hospital as a pharmacy tech, and I have really put these shoes to the test! I was experiencing a lot of back pain with my feet and legs being really tired at the end of the day. Once I started wearing these New Balance shoes though, all of that was in the past. Thanks for the great shoes New Balance!

Sizes run too small,
By Wendy W. (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews

I agree with the reviewer that said these shoes run small. All my New Balance shoes fit well and lasted a long time exceot these. I got these shoes as a gift and they squeeze my feet and are very uncomfortable. I tried to "break them in", but gave up after my feet went numb. If you order these, get then in a half-size bigger and a size wider (not good on the old ego), or better yet, just get a different style. We shouldn't have to remember different sizes for different styles.

Not Good For Walking At All,
By
This review is from: New Balance Women's WW558 Walking Shoe (Apparel)
I have recently taken up walking to get some exercise. I had heard great things about New balance and bought these. I am really unhappy with this shoe. While the left shoe is perfectly comfortable, the right shoe in both pairs (I bought one, returned them because I thought they were defective) has a very uncomfortable feel to the bottom- like my heal is lower than the rest of my foot- and that there is a bar in the shoe sole pushing on the bottom of my foot. It's really uncomfortable and a huge disappointment. I guess the search for a good walking shoe continues.

This shoes are cheap and not well made. The picture doesn't even really look like what I received in the mail. The pictures makes the shoes seem sturdy, with some lift in the back and perhaps even some support in the arch and definitely cushion around the ankles. Nope. I would not buy these again ever.

Great shoe for wide feet!,

I usually have to get men's shoes to find a pair wide enough. I was so glad to find that these shoes are wide enough for me. They are good looking, comfortable shoes, but it's kind of odd how they go from wide across the foot to tighter in the toe box. It doesn't really 'squeeze' the toes; it rubs that little, specific area where the breadth of the foot connects to the bottom of the big toe and littlest toe. After wearing the shoes a few days now, that part has become more fit to my feet and is quite comfy now! I'd definitely recommend these shoes.

New Balance Sneakers,

Having had plantars fascitis for several years now, this is the only brand of sneaker I can wear which does not cause me problems. The arches in the sneakers really help with the pain. I have tried many sneakers over the years and a small shoe store once recommended these as the best for foot care and stated that they are not made to be a "designer shoe" but for comfort for people with bad arches. I buy a new pair every six months or so as I live in sneakers because of heel and arch pain. I'll be back again in several months to buy a new pair.

I purchased these shoes and had them sent to my mother who lives in an assisted living facility. She just loves the shoes and they were a correct fit from the size selection of the shoes. Many of the staff and residents at the facility have commented to her on how well they like the looks of the shoes and want to know where she got them. She is 87 and just tells them that her son bought them for her birthday. I would highly recommend these shoes based on her comments.

These shoes saved my back and day. I had purchased cheap shoes from wal-mart and it felt like I was walking on hard boards of wood. I put these shoes on and it was like walking on air. I will never go away from this brand.

I am starting on a new wellness program. The shoes are perfect for aerobic exercises and for walking. The price was right too.
