I bought these shoes based on so many positive reviews, but was disappointed with what I received. The material (the upper material - leather and synthetic) used to make the shoe is very stiff. I feel I would have to wear them for a long time to "break them in" and get them soft enough to enjoy my walks. On my right shoe the crease by the toes is formed in an odd direction and when I bend my foot the crease presses into my toe joints causing discomfort. The true test is when I take them off and put on a different pair of walking shoes that I bought just a month earlier from a department store. The department store shoes feel like heaven compared to the New Balance Walking shoes. I am training for a 39 mile walk and need several pairs of shoes for the walk as back up shoes in case of blisters or inclement weather, etc. I was going to use the New Balance shoes for my main walking shoe, when I ordered them, but after wearing them they are now my 3rd back up pair. I will use them out of desperation during the walk, basically when all else fails.

These are very comfortable for walking. I've had many pairs of New Balance Sneakers and these are the most comfy I've had. I did take the advice of other reviewers and ordered a 1/2 size up. I'm usually a solid 8m. Got the 8 1/2 and they fit perfectly. Walking 5 miles is a breeze. And they are good looking shoes, a little bulky around the ankle, but that is part of the good support. highly recommend.

I have always been a fan of New Balance but these shoes are not recommended by me. They run about a half size small and, as other reviewers have pointed out, are very stiff and have very little cushioning. I returned mine and asked for a refund.

ANOTHER AWESOME SHOE FROM NEW BALANCE ! IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A GREAT SHOE WHEN YOUR JOB REQUIRES LONG HOURS OF STANDING YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG ON NEW BALANCE!!!

These shoes are very comfortable for me. I have flat feet, so I am very particular what shoes I buy. So far these shoes are good for my feet.:). I think they are very attractive as well.

I bought these shoes at the recommendation of a Podiatrist. I had a stress fracture in my foot and needed a comfy walking shoe. I wore these shoes religiously for almost a year straight, with little variation of my other boots/ shoes. Even after my foot healed, I still grab for my 644's! I have almost wore these shoes OUT! I am ordering a new pair today as a matter of fact! I actually bought 2 different styles of NB, newer, lighter, etc.. but neither are as comfy as the 644's. I have never had a more comfortable walking shoe! WW644br thats the shoe for me!!

I bought these shoes to wear while I walk my dogs. We live in the country and I needed something durable and comfortable walking on gravel, asphalt and tall hay grass. These shoes worked from day one....no breaking in. I love 'em.

I have truly enjoyed these walking shoes. I walk about 7 miles a day and they are great foot support and very comfortable. I would definately purchase another pair real soon. The price was right also!

These are too small, very tight around the toes. I can visibly see that the shoe narrows significantly. I am disappointed, as my sister wore her older pair into the ground. I have to return them.

The shoes came in a reasonable amount of time and were in excellent condition. Appreciated!
