5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic shoe!, June 30, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I attended a seminar on Osteoporesis and Arthritis last fall, and a woman
in the audience highly recommended this shoe. I waited until after
having foot surgery in the spring to order it. I've been wearing it for
3 weeks and it's wonderful. The sizing is true, fit is perfect, and the
comfort and stability make it worth every penny. I don't train, only use it for walking, but I imagine it would work just as well in any program. This vendor also sells it at the lowest price I've seen online. Super buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars No more foot pain, September 12, 2009
This review is from: New Balance Women's WX855 Training Shoe (Apparel)
I have had ongoing plantar fascitis and have bought numerous shoes only to discard them when they did not offer the relief I needed. This shoe was recommended to me at a store in Louisville, KY two years ago along with Prostep orthotics. When used in combination, I have relief as soon as I put on the shoe. I can't use just any New Balance but this one has enough support to allow me a normal life without pain. Each year the number goes up by one so last year, this shoe was 854, this year 855, next year 856? I keep up with these things because it is the only shoe I live in. This price on Amazon is great, too. Much less than retail outlet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, August 3, 2009

Since I wear only New Balance tennis shoes, my podiatrist told me to get model #'s at least 800 or higher for the support. My orthotics (for neuromas and plantar fasciitis) fit very nicely in this shoe. The shoe is very stiff, but I suppose they're supposed to be for support. I like the "wideness" in the toe area - much better for feet. I wish these were a little more cushy, but again maybe they're not supposed to be. I haven't tried any other models in the 800's, so I will be curious as to the feel of a different model as compared to these. Overall, I'm quite happy with them though.
