5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic shoe!
I attended a seminar on Osteoporesis and Arthritis last fall, and a woman
in the audience highly recommended this shoe. I waited until after
having foot surgery in the spring to order it. I've been wearing it for
3 weeks and it's wonderful. The sizing is true, fit is perfect, and the

1.0 out of 5 stars New Balance Women's WX855 Training Shoe
The shoes were much more narrow than marked. I've been very satisfied with New Balance in the past. I pretty much only wear New Balance at work. This pair of shoes was definitely manufactured incorrectly. I also had a problem with the vendor who advertised them as new, when they had obviously been worn and the original packaging was missing.

5.0 out of 5 stars No more foot pain, September 12, 2009
I have had ongoing plantar fascitis and have bought numerous shoes only to discard them when they did not offer the relief I needed. This shoe was recommended to me at a store in Louisville, KY two years ago along with Prostep orthotics. When used in combination, I have relief as soon as I put on the shoe. I can't use just any New Balance but this one has enough support to allow me a normal life without pain. Each year the number goes up by one so last year, this shoe was 854, this year 855, next year 856? I keep up with these things because it is the only shoe I live in. This price on Amazon is great, too. Much less than retail outlet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, August 3, 2009

Since I wear only New Balance tennis shoes, my podiatrist told me to get model #'s at least 800 or higher for the support. My orthotics (for neuromas and plantar fasciitis) fit very nicely in this shoe. The shoe is very stiff, but I suppose they're supposed to be for support. I like the "wideness" in the toe area - much better for feet. I wish these were a little more cushy, but again maybe they're not supposed to be. I haven't tried any other models in the 800's, so I will be curious as to the feel of a different model as compared to these. Overall, I'm quite happy with them though.

They fit well, true to size, plenty of room in the toe box. They fit my heel, not leaving too much room to slip around. The shoes grip well when I'm working out and support me well during lateral motion and help me when I'm doing circuit or cardio training. I would recommend these shoes for the serious exerciser.

My podiatrist recommended purchasing a cross training shoe from New Balance to assist in healing plantar facitis that I have had for 4 months. They are good quality and have eased the pain.
