This review applies to the H1 conversion kit, purchased at the end of September 2014.

While the item details claim these are Cree LEDs they're clearly not -- the dimensions and other specifications are wrong according to the data sheets listed on Cree's site. Based on what I see on other direct import sites and from looking at data sheets, I'm guessing these are Seoul Semiconductor COB (sometimes called 'Korea Seoul COB') lights. Lights of this kind have multiple SMD LEDs attached to a single chip carrier, in this case 12 of them. I measure the LED carrier at 11x8mm, the light source is 7.3mm in diameter.

The positioning of the light source is very close to where my H1 HID discharge area is, which is good as it should be well positioned within the reflector. They produce a large quantity of light -- they were physically too large for my housings, so I can't compare them to the old stuff, and I don't have a light meter to measure it that way.

I measured the power consumption on my bench supply, at 12.6V each light pulled 1.22 amps. On the scope the output of the power supply is clean, with minimal ripple. The power supply was outputting 45V with no load, I didn't test the no load current. The internals of power supplies are potted in silicone, so likely to be reasonably waterproof.

The durability of the wiring on the bulbs is a bit questionable. The housing is notched for the wiring, but its poorly secured. Edges are reasonably clean, and surfaces are smooth sandblasted. Short version, I have wear concerns about the wiring. I doubt the fan will hold up for any length of time. The fans aren't weather hardened at all, they're basic PC jobs designed for use in a dry, protected environment.

i purchased these lights some 6 months ago for my daily driver because i do a LOT of country driving and constantly have to worry about deer and other animals. i was hoping for pure white light that would throw farther than halogens or hids. i got what i wanted and then some. light output is at LEAST twice what my silverstar halogens were. the best feature is they are instant on. no warm up time like hids. they are a very durable housing and quality led. the light is evenly thrown in my factory housings. much better than hids. though i did have one small issue with one, the company backs up their 5 year warranty no questions asked. try and find that with xentecs. ill never use anything else but these from now on.

I bought these bulbs for my 2014 Mazda 6 Touring to replace the Halogen DRL/High Beam and they work perfectly. Just plug and play no need to buy any resistor kits or anything. They do actually work as High Beam as well which makes them a lot more practical than the cheaper bulbs which are available.

I purchased these lights because I was tired of all the issues I was having with my HIDs (blinking, errors, not tunring on, radio reception, etc). So I did lots and lots and lots of research in order to find an alternative to the HID light output. The only thing that I found after all the reasearch is the CREE LED, so I gave it a try. These are just as bright if not a little brighter than the 6000K 35 watt HIDs I had in there prior to. They instantly come on bright and never flicker, I also did not need a relay anymore to bypass a computer error I was getting. I would highly reccomend these over HIDs to anybody and everybody. I will be using the CREE LED headlights from now on in all my vehicles, remember you get what you pay for, dont try to find a cheaper LED that doesn't have a ballast (it wont be nearly as bright).

These are a solid set of LEDs for the road. They come packaged well and appear to be well built. Other reviews claimed they are not really CREE LEDs, but I don't see any evidence of that. These are really nice and bright, but keep in mind 3 caveats:

1) Because of the design, they will not fit 100% of cars right out of the box. For example, I used them on a 2006 Mazda 3s, which uses a black plastic base on top of the standard H7 bulb. The clip to secure the bulb clips on top of the black plastic base, and you can't install a bulb without it. My solution was to get some washers from the hardware store to add the right amount of height to the LED bulb. You can see this mod in the picture, and it works great.

2) The light produced by these bulbs is more directional than a filament bulb, so they are really best suited to projector headlights.

3) The light is white....REALLY white. Near to or over 6000K. At this temperature, visibility starts to suffer (closer to 4000K is optimal). Meaning, this bulb might not appear to light a black road as well as a halogen bulb, but as soon as you see the light on a car or pedestrian at night, the improvement in light from this LED kit becomes apparent.

I got these lights because I was sick of replacing my low-beam bulbs every 6 months, and I wanted to see what LED tech could do for headlights these days. I am happy with the results. This is a good product - just don't expect it to be a drop-in solution for every car.
