get educated to win at slots, June 27, 2010
This review is from: New Casino Slots: How to Play, have Fun and Win (Paperback)
Victor Royer has once again written a book that will help you be able to make educated gaming decisions in the casino. Do not plan on playing the newest video slots without reading this book, as they are dominating the casino floor. Better yet buy his other two slot books as well and come fully prepared. Mr Royer shows the latest machines and how to play them to your advantage. This helps you to pick games that offer you a better chance to win while walking away from those that don't, making your bankroll last longer.I can personally tell you I felt more confident walking into the casino after reading his books. I go home a winner more often than I use to and I know what games I should be playing, and which I should walk, if not run away from. It is a fun and educational read and I recomend his books to everyone looking to spend their hard earned money on casino entertainment. An educated gambler is what the casinos do not want, this and his other books give you that education.

If you want to know what is "Hot" in slots this book is for you, October 9, 2010
This review is from: New Casino Slots: How to Play, have Fun and Win (Paperback)
I have been a long time follower of Mr. Royer's publications on the sport of gambling and, quite frankly, have received some very nice wins due largely to his gambling information prowess. This latest book on Casino slots walks you through the evolution of the Aristocrat gaming machines to present day and I found it to be quite informative. I intend to use Mr. Royer's keen insight on the various ways to play these machines on my next trip to Las Vegas. I highly recommend purchasing this tool for slot gambling.

Great Book! -- Full of helpful tips, December 9, 2010
This review is from: New Casino Slots: How to Play, have Fun and Win (Paperback)
For anyone who likes modern slot machines -- or is interested in finding out more about them -- this is the book for you. Especially if you don't know how they work, and what to expect. The author focuses on Aristocrat slots specifically, because they are the machines and games that are currently the most popular in major casinos -- and especially in Indian casinos, and the casinos outside of Las Vegas. And even in Las Vegas, Reno, Atlantic City -- or anywhere for that matter -- these are the kinds of slots that are the most played, and most requested by players.
In this book -- and for the only time anywhere as far as I can tell from reading other books on slots -- the author shows the starting values for progressives, and also -- which is a real treat -- how much they grow to before they are hit. Games like Beat The Bandits, for example, have this profile.
There is also a section on what is meant by the various terminology on the modern slot machines, and what this means. For example, did you know what a Power Pay machine is? Or why it's called that? Or what it means to your playing money? Well, in this case, this means that the machine has an added wager -- a side-bet of sorts -- that allows for more wins, and more bonuses. And there are many other such helpful hints as well.
There is also a section on what are the Stand Alone Progressives, Double and Triple, and what this means. Also what is meant by a local link, or a bank, or a multi-link progressive, and what this means, how much it costs, and what you can reasonably expect to hit -- and how often.
There are profiles of games most of us who play slots already know -- such as Mr. Cashman, JAWS, and so on, but here you learn what kind of differences there are between these games, and how they play differently in these various ways.
And then there are other games, new games, such as The Sopranos, Jeff Foxworthy, Jackpot Manor, Banana King, Chicken 2, Kentucky Derby, Hit The Heights, and many many others. All of them described in detail, with instructions on how to play, and what is good, and which way to play them to your best advantage.
Some of these games also have a story that the author tells. Sometimes it's a historical references, such as with Pompeii or The Shield, and sometimes it's the author's own story, like the one about Hit The Heights and Bob Stupak's tower in Las Vegas and The Sky's The Limit.
It's a great read, and I like it. You will too, I'm sure. So now I'm off to the casino again. Maybe today is the time for my jackpot.
