Many companies isolate elements from an herb, concentrate them, and label it “whole herb.” New Chapter delivers the wisdom of whole food. Using only natural supercritical CO2 or traditional techniques of extraction, our Force extracts guarantee the fullest spectrum of beneficial phytonutrients in their natural profile. Cinnamon possesses a unique power amongst botanicals by assisting in the body’s conversion of sugar (glucose) into energy.

Having recently been told I'm pre-diabetic and having heard about the potential link between taking daily doses (about 1/2t - 1 t) of cinnamon and improved blood sugar management, I started taking cinnamon on a daily basis. For the first month, I added cinnamon powder to everything I could think of: coffee, buttered toast, carrots, sweet potatoes. This got old pretty fast and, some days, I didn't have any cinnamon at all because I was beginning to hate having little bits of dry powder floating around in tea or laying on top of food.

I started reading up on all the possible benefits of cinnamon and, if they are true, they are pretty impressive--especially since there are no negative side effects, so I definitely wanted to keep taking it. That is when I found these Cinnaforce pills here on Amazon and started taking them as on the same day they arrived.

I may have gotten an immediate benefit from them. As it turns out, I noticed that I was sleeping better within two days of starting these capsules. I had, somehow, gotten in the habit of waking up--wide awake--at 3 am, like clockwork. Now I don't, I sleep straight through the night. Cinnamon is supposed to help with energy & metabolism, and I don't know if this falls into that category or just a coincidence. I didn't see this specific effect listed in the many lists of cinnamon benefits, but it happened to me right after starting.

These capsules are concentrated and they are tiny. I take 2 a day and have no problem remembering to take them. They don't interact with any other medication and there is no aftertaste. It's hard to say whether the reason my blood work came in better this month are the pills, or the fact that I'm making an effort to eat better, or a combination of both. But I was surprised and pleased, since during the Christmas holidays it was very difficult to avoid sugar and eat sensibly, no matter how hard you try. So I am giving these little pills at least part of the credit!

Like so many natural substances, cinnamon is the subject of dozens of health claims. It's touted as the answer to everything from weight loss and improving memory to alleviating arthritis pain. Does it work? Beats me. Since I like cinnamon and don't get a sufficient amount in the foods I eat regularly, I've been taking cinnamon capsules for a few months in the hope that it might work to regulate my blood sugar and lower my LDL levels. My results have been good but truthfully, I have no idea whether it's thanks to the cinnamon, the other changes in diet I've put into effect or a combination of the two. Since I don't seem to be suffering any ill effects from the cinnamon capsules and may actually be reaping a benefit, I plan to continue them.

The capsules that I had been taking are much more potent than the New Chapter Cinnamonforce capsules. I had been ingesting 2 to 3 grams a day as opposed to the 140 mg recommended by New Chapter. True, my old capsules are Cinnamomum Cassia and not the combination of Cinnamomum Aromaticum (cassia) and Cinnamomum Verum that's contained in the Cinnamonforce, but as I read that several studies were conducted using only the cassia (which is cheaper and more commonly available), I'm not sure how noteworthy that is.

In short, the Cinnamonforce capsules are small, very pleasant tasting and easy to take but are significantly less potent and more expensive than many other available brands of cinnamon capsules on the market.

Cinnamon reputedly has some measureable health benefits; however the studies were performed with dosgages of 1, 2, 3 and 6 grams/day intake. You would have to take more than 7 of the Cinnamonforce 140mg capsules to reach even the lowest dose.

The bottle is way over-sized too. The capsules barely cover the bottom and the remaing 90% of the bottle is empty.

I would recommend Nature's Bounty Cinnamon, 1000 mg, 100 Capsules (Pack of 3) becuase it is much less expensive and the dosage is closer to having some efficacy.

Studies have shown that cinnamon can help to lower blood sugar levels (glucose) by boosting the sensitivity of the cells in your body to insulin. Insulin helps the cells in your body to take up glucose from the blood stream, thus lowering your blood sugar levels. When your body cells are more sensitive to insulin, they are better able to lower your blood sugar levels.

The New Chapter Cinnamonforce Capsules may have two potential benefits:

(1) It may be beneficial as a dietary supplement if you're borderline diabetic. (Diabetes is a condition where body cells have become insulin resistant. Your body cells thus becomes less capable of uptaking glucose in your blood. As a result, your blood glucose levels become dangerously high. Cinnamon helps by bringing blood glucose levels back down.)

Contraindication: Since cinnamon supplements lowers blood sugar levels, it should NOT be taken with medication that promotes hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels).

(2) It will boost your energy levels because your body becomes more efficient at using glucose as needed as you expend energy for your activities. Cinnamon thus improves your metabolism and helps you lose weight.

---
We have been taking the New Chapter Cinnamonforce Capsules and have definitely noticed a difference in our energy levels. They seem to work as claimed. They're definitely worth looking into if you're looking into boosting your metabolism or shedding some extra pounds.
