Probably worth the price for the first track!,

This review is from: New Chapter in Dub (Audio CD)
This is the companion-piece to "New Chapter" - every track in dub version in reverse order of the original album. Hence, the final killer track, "Love Fire" becomes the opening killer "Dub Fire" on this. It's all great stuff. It was basically downhill from here, so if you like this pair, go back ("Aswad", "Hulet" and the brilliant "Showcase") and not too far forward ("Not Satisfied" and the excellent "Live & Direct")

Best Reggae DUB album ever!,

The original album 'New Chapter' was Aswad at it it's best; before they went into a more 'Top 40' direction. This is the dub version of that album. If you like dub versions, this is the best ever made. I burned a CD combning both albums on one disc with each original song followed by it's dub version - Fantastic!! Highly recommended.

The Best Dub Album Ever!,

This review is from: New Chapter of Dub (Reis) (Audio CD)
Even though we are all Aswad fan, I must say I'm not satisfied with some of these reviews. Yes Aswad's "A New Chapter Of Dub" contains the classical "Dub Fire" (the Dub version of "Love Fire"), it also contains other classical tracks. For instance "Mikaflame" & "Ghetto In The Sky" are some others that have been very over looked, I believe these should have atleast made it to some of their compilations. "Bammie Blow" another classic, how the horns were playing on this song, I can see why they call it "Bammie Blow". Plus, I have past experiences of feeling more relaxed and it almost as if I was high! "Truth" is phenomenal, PERIOD! This Dub is so phenomenal when I play it I can't believe it was made in '82. This Dub actually made me believe that Hip Hop is a branch off of Reggae music. Now don't get me wrong, it contains it's Reggae style the tempo, bass line, and beat drops gives it a Hip Hop feeling. "Zion I" gives you the Rastafarian feeling every Reggae album needs, just listen for your self. Even though I haven't mention "Tuffist" and "Shining Dub", don't get the wrong idea they're still great songs to listen to. Over all I believe this is the GREATEST DUB ALBUM OF ALL TIME!!!
