A thorough dissemination of the topic and a choice pick, November 10, 2009
This review is from: The New Circlemakers: Insights Into the Crop Circle Mystery (Paperback)
Bored farmers or the supernatural? "The New Circlemakers: Insights into the Crop Circle Mystery" discusses the crop circles with a metaphysical eye upon their roots, stating that crop circles may have similar origins to the likes of Stone Henge. Indeed, the foundation of crop circles just might be in mankind's druidic ancient religions. An intriguing survey for metaphysical readers, "The New Circlemakers" is a thorough dissemination of the topic and a choice pick.

the crop circle enigma, December 16, 2011
This review is from: The New Circlemakers: Insights Into the Crop Circle Mystery (Paperback)
Andrew Collins has written an interesting book on the crop circle phenomena which deals with the possibility of them being created by beings from another dimension. He used to think it was extraterrestrials, but this book has been updated to show his new thinking on the subject. Originally written in 1992, the bulk of the book is the same other than some new pictures and Mr Collins latest conclusion. There has been some scientific study of these formations which state there might be something unusual going on here.
My one problem that the author (or other crop circle researchers) failed to notice is the evolution of the crop circle design itself. They started out with the rather primitive circles and went to some more intricate designs. Even the book has pictures of the later circles created from some very complex designs. It seems to me someone is learning a better technique in making these circles.
It is also somewhat condescending to human ingenuity when some researchers claim these intricate designs cannot be made by human beings with the tools available to them. This seems to be a challenge sent out with those who only work with simple tools and yet can use them for complex geometry.
The actual design of the crop circles themselves are basic geometric shapes which are repeated and made into the very complex and beautiful works they are. Does this mean they are all man-made? I don't know, as Mr Collins does open the eyes to other suggestions. But he is lacking any proof they are caused by anything other than people. The pictures of the alleged UFOs are the usual blurred type shown as evidence.
Mr Collins also brings up Cygnus in this book (maybe to plug his Cygnus Mystery) and tries to use it as a possible explanation. Of note, this book was published by the Association for Research and Enlightment (A.R.E.) which is an offshoot of the Edgar Cayce Foundation. That may or may not have anything to do with what the author believes, but I do think it is worth mentioning when considering purchasing this book.
I liked the book for the most part, but I do wish Mr Collins would of looked into the possibility of human involvement. While it is fun to speculate on all the other extraordinary causes, it would of added some balance to the book.

so interesting!, September 11, 2009
This review is from: The New Circlemakers: Insights Into the Crop Circle Mystery (Paperback)
I loved this book, it was a fascinating read. The author is obviously well-versed in crop circles. I think he is from the part of the UK where they often occur. It's an interesting subject to me whether they are man-made or otherworldly, or BOTH!
