I am delighted to extend a warm, personal "Thank You" to Ms. Mitchell for writing such a dynamic book. I commend her and the fine business men and women that appear in her book for the outstanding contributions they make on a daily basis for improving the quality of life for many young black people. It is concerned authors like Niki that help to revitalize the true spirit of black self empowerment. Niki's examples of personal excellence plays an integral role in instilling in young people an appreciation for life, and fostering a climate of ambition and achievement amony young people. This book encourages young and old alike to become business leaders in their communities. I applaud Niki for affording our young people the greatest gift of all for the holidays--FAITH IN THEMSELVES.

The New Color Of Success,
This review is from: The New Color of Success: Twenty Young Black Millionaires Tell You How They're Making It (Hardcover)
AWESOME! Thank you Ms. Niki Butler Mitchell for showcasing people of color. I know they exist in my environment, but there are others in the world that are not surrounded by such images of success. The theme throughout this book is faith, perseverance, hard work, family, helping others, not MONEY! I could not put this book down. It lead to my insomnia! Why should you purchase this book? Parents to encourage your child; multicultural professionals to show there are a multitude of successful people of color that are not in the entertainment industry or playing supports that encounter racism; entrepenuers to refer to as a source of encouragement. Bottomline this is not just a book for people of color, but for people who have persevered. These individuals have definitely reinforced my motto, "all you can tell me is no, but if I don't ask the answer is already N-O!" Thanks to the individuals represented in the pages of 'The New Color Of Success' I have been encouraged to continue focusing on my passion. So, Ms. Mitchell when are you planning on writing the next one? Marie Curate

This book is timely and superbly written by a woman who has done her research well. Each case study offers a wealth of information about how to be a financially successful person of color in a world where the playing field is anything but level. An excellent read!

Insightful, Motivating, Inspiring!,
This review is from: The New Color of Success: Twenty Young Black Millionaires Tell You How They're Making It (Hardcover)
A unique business book describing the successes of young African-American entrepreneurs with poignant reflections on the costs, rewards and responsibilities of being successful. This book lays outs the blueprint of twenty select black millionaires who had the tenacity and business savvy to compete in arenas where the majority competition never expected to have deal with black businesspeople as equals. Niki Mitchell has a written a provocative, illuminating and motivation book that espouses more than wealth and individual success but character in the true sense of American business.

A fabulous new book that tells the stories of self-made black millionaires. Great, surprising and inspirational stories. Very refreshing to hear of black millionaires who are NOT pro athletes or rap stars. Highly recommended. Read it now BEFORE it goes on Oprah....

Verify Your Millionaires BEFORE writing about them!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The New Color of Success: Twenty Young Black Millionaires Tell You How They're Making It (Hardcover)
The book writes about a Mr. Alvin Rice as a "Young Black Millionaire" but he is definetly NOT one. Unfortunately, this gentlemen has pretty much "charmed" the author into believing what ever he can come up with. D&R Recovery (his supposed fortune in the making) is now under and owes back taxes from what I read. I really think the author should have verified her sources before publishing the book and making the rest us look bad! It's hard enough to find an uplifting book about our people, then to have the information be tarnished.

Absolutely outstanding piece of literary work. It is rare, even with the likes of Black Enterprise Magazine, that we get to see the wealthy Black Americans that exist in this country. Besides being an eye opening book, I also found it to be motivational for one who might contemplate starting ones own business one day. Some of the person's profiled in this book started with very little capital in some very non-traditional fields with the odds against them. Through perserverance and determination they became successful. I strongly recommend this book as one you must have in your library. Hopefully, this will inspire Mr. Graves to document the 400 wealthiest Black Americans.
