Book Description

By Appointment Only July 18, 2002
A follow-up to Jan de Vries' Multiple Sclerosis, this reveals more recent developments in the treatment of the disease. Drawing on nearly 40 years experience of treating MS sufferers, Jan de Vries, working closely with Professor Roger MacDougall, advocates a gluten-free diet, not only as a means of controlling MS, but also for those suffering from autism and schizophrenia. The volume discusses these findings and provides a guide to following a gluten-free diet in everyday life. Jayne Martin, an MS sufferer successfully treated by Jan de Vries, shares the challenges she overcame in following the diet and provides easy-to-follow recipes.

If you have heard of the Roger MacDougall diet and you want a good copy of it plus more info on it, this is for you. If you have never heard of it or him, this is for you. If you have tried it and hated it, this is not for you.

I wanted to try it again and know the correct vitamins etc. for it as well as a little more info on other things. My doctors were all for it before when I tried it. It is a tough act to follow, but not impossible.

This book touches on the problem being in the small intestine. It is worth the knowledge if you do not have it or like me, wanted it in an easy place to find.

It does give hope (without wanting to) that others have put this miserable disease in remission so to speak. There is hope yet and I for one felt no worse doing this, just got bored. It is a trap I hope I don't fall into again as I am still hoping for my miracle and hope this is it because so many of my symptoms fit with this idea. I don't think I am alone.
