3.0 out of 5 stars New Digital Cinema, June 28, 2011

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: New Digital Cinema: Reinventing the Moving Image (Short Cuts) (Paperback)
This book (part of the "Short Cuts" series) offers a welcome introduction (or overview) to more recent developments in expanded cinema, video projection art, video art and installations, and therefore seems to be more of a primer introducing contemporary video art/installations (which of course use moving images) rather than a book on film and film theory. Slender and well produced, the book is helpful and inspiring, and its shortness gives it a certain edge, tantalizing the reader, while at the same time covering many recent trend in western digital video and expanded cinema practices, and placing them onto a context of evolving late 20th century and 21st century new media arts.
