5.0 out of 5 stars Not for those who want EBM dance industrial....
Their best IMO next to Shock. The minimalist, mostly instrumental concept didn't work on Human very well IMO, but it works here. The album sounds more focused, whereas Human was jumping all over the place and often got boring.

Next to Skinny Puppy: Bites, this is the first album in a long time that actual frightens me to a certain degree....and thats why I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty decent Belgian industrial.
On "The New Drug", Guy Van Mieghem (also known for his work in Insekt and Blok 57) and Gin Devo deliver twelve tracks of heavy EBM/industrial. If you like bands like Insekt, Blok 57, Dive, and the older works of A Split-Second, then you should get into Vomito Negro as well.

Their best IMO next to Shock. The minimalist, mostly instrumental concept didn't work on Human very well IMO, but it works here. The album sounds more focused, whereas Human was jumping all over the place and often got boring.

Next to Skinny Puppy: Bites, this is the first album in a long time that actual frightens me to a certain degree....and thats why I like it. :) For those of you wanting dancy EBM, there's not much here for you, except maybe 'Blind Eyes' or the title track. Those of you who loved to listen to the largely instrumental Skinny Puppy 'Bites' album...this should be up your alley.

The album stays in the creepier side, and much like their Myspace page claims, Vomito Negro is steeped in film noir influence. This would make perfect horror movie music. I prefer listening to it in the dead of night before bed or on a walk.

Stuff like opening/closing 'Immortal/Mortal', 'Umbriferous' and 'Daddy' are exceptionally goosebump giving. 'To Auto Logos' is a pure nightmare sure to make your blood chill at every turn. Occasional vocal tracks emerge like 'System', 'XTC' 'Blind Eyes' and the ominous title track. Vomito Negro knows how to take minimalism and film noir roots and make something satisfyingly blood curdling. Highly recommended.

I bought this CD because I heard a pretty cool sounding track by Vomito Negro and good lord this is unlistenable. I love just about all forms of music from SPK to George Michael and this is by far the worst CD I have ever come across in my 32 years of life.
