More About the Author

Spiritual teacher and author Eckhart Tolle was born in Germany and educated at the Universities of London and Cambridge. At the age of twenty-nine a profound inner transformation radically changed the course of his life. The next few years were devoted to understanding, integrating, and deepening that transformation, which marked the beginning of an intense inward journey. Later, he began to work in London with individuals and small groups as a counselor and spiritual teacher. Since 1995 he has lived in Vancouver, Canada.

Eckhart Tolle is the author of the New York Times bestsellers The Power of Now (translated into 33 languages) and A New Earth, which are widely regarded as two of the most influential spiritual books of our time. In 2008, A New Earth became the first spiritual book to be selected for Oprah's Book Club as well as the subject of a ten-week online workshop co-taught by Eckhart and Oprah.

Eckhart's profound yet simple teachings have helped countless people throughout the world find inner peace and greater fulfillment in their lives. At the core of the teachings lies the transformation of consciousness, a spiritual awakening that he sees as the next step in human evolution. I loved the book "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle, and have found myself referring back to it often. Then I received this deck of inspirational cards and I was beyond pleased! This 52 card deck is perfect for contemplation and reflection. The top of the box flips up, so you can prop a favorite card up to think on (I put a new card up each day).

This is a beautiful deck. It's simple and elegant, yet do be careful when handling the cards to have perfectly clean and dry hands! They get smudge marks on them very very easily.

The cards themselves appear to be divided into four groups; they have a deep blue background with white text and either an orange, green or light blue border. Or a dark blue border with black background and white text. At the top of each card, above the text, is a tiny picture of the earth.

The back side of the cards is the beautiful orange of the book, with a strip of blue space and stars with the earth centered in it.

The insert that comes with the deck does not explain why the deck seems to be divided into four sections - but I'm assuming that they pertain to the different levels of understanding, starting with the orange, the green, the light blue and then the dark blue.

And of course, each card contains a snippet of wisdom from the book. Some are single sentences, others are longer - all are helpful!

"Whatever the ego seeks and gets attached to are substitutes for the Being that it cannot feel." From the cards.

"The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it. Be aware of the thoughts you are thinking. Separate them from the situation, which is always neutral, which always is as it is." From the cards.

"Very unconscious people experience their own ego through its reflection in others. When you realize that what you react to in others is also in you (and sometimes only in you), you begin to become aware of your own ego." From the cards.

If you are like me, and highlighted all your favorite passages in the book, you will love referring to these inspirational cards when looking for a bit of enlightenment. Even if you've never read the book, the cards are filled with simple wisdom, that while very thought-provoking is not overwhelming.

I would highly recommend this deck to anyone who is a fan of Eckhart Tolle, or anyone who is traveling a path to spiritual wholeness. Embrace the moment and move into your Being.

I am an unashamed Eckhart Tolle fan and absolutely devour anything new. I have this deck of cards right here on my desk and pick a new one every single day. The pictures are pretty, but not distracting, and the quotes seem to be perfect for each day.

Just a lovely way to reinforce the teachings of Eckhart.
