Many Great Ideas
My husband hunts anything that moves - we have antelope, elk, and pheasant in the freezer. This cookbook gives many great - different ideas of how to prepare the meat. Also included are ideas for veggies and deserts as well. Even the kids like the dishes!!

It's probably a 4 star cowboy cook book but doesn't have the detail of meat care I'd hoped for.

The book is a nice cookbook, but I don't see the verification to call it an Elk Cookbook, since a lot of the recipes are page fillers and could be found in many other books. I am truly disappointed since my husband brought home our first elk this past fall, and we were looking forward to some new exciting recipes. We stock our freezer each year with venison and a variety of other wild game and I was looking for a new twist to preparing some wonderful ELK dishes. Instead I found a few already tried meat recipes along with a lot of PAGE FILLER RECIPES. Need to rename this cookbook.
