Sheer Beauty
This is an absolutely beautiful book. The photography is breath-taking and interlaced with poems and excerpts from famous New Englander writers (happily including Emily Dickinson). A fabulous coffee-table book.

OK Coffee Table Book
I've read his book on living in Tuscany, and enjoyed it, so I thought I'd like this one as well. If you're into nice books for your coffee table collection, this one's OK. If I owned an Inn or B&B in New England, I'd display it. If you're looking to use it as a guide for special places to see in New England...not so much. It has a very nice collection of poems and short...

I've read his book on living in Tuscany, and enjoyed it, so I thought I'd like this one as well. If you're into nice books for your coffee table collection, this one's OK. If I owned an Inn or B&B in New England, I'd display it. If you're looking to use it as a guide for special places to see in New England...not so much. It has a very nice collection of poems and short essays by famous NE authors, but virtually no detail about the photos themselves. Too many non-striking shots of rocks and streams and small harbors, too few of fall vistas and quaint New England towns. Ten minutes and I'm done with the photographs; perhaps later I'll go back and read some poetry.
