My family and I just returned from a long trip to the East Coast, and this was one of the guide books which I found to be informative. It gives a great overview and detailed information on the best places of interest in New England. What I love about these Eyewitness Guides is the great number of full-color pictures of all the places of interest which are a feast for the eyes [most other travel guides do not have many pictures, much less full-color photographs]. Seeing these places in the book helped me [a very visual person] to decide on whether I wanted to visit certain places. There are maps aplenty, though small in size [but handy]. There are extensive reviews of restaurants, places on interest and also hotels, amongst others.
My one complaint is that the addresses for some the places of interest are not detailed for the GPS, i.e. missing zipcodes and such which made it harder for me to locate the exact address on my GPS [a situation remedied by a quick call to said location via the tel no helpfully provided in the guide]. Perhaps the publishers can look into this aspect for future publications. Other than that, this is a beautiful and handy travel guide to New England.

DK Travel Guides are always the best, and this one is no exception. I gave it only 4 stars because the book is more general than other Eyewitness guides I have used. It covers the broad area of all New England. DK's usual information and stunning illustrations are in place to cover the highlights, but the book could be bigger to cover so much.

When we plan a vacation we always end up getting an Eyewitness Travel Guide. We do buy other books for ideas but we always seem to get the most value from the Eyewitness books. Sometimes I just don't feel like reading a whole book describing what is worth seeing where flipping through the pages of this one with photos makes it much easier and quicker. In the case of these books "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words" is very true. This book makes my 14th Eyewitness Travel Guide. Nuff said?

I have many DK travel books. They are one of the best. Especially love the way they organize the info. They also include a lot of photos and bite sized data too. Really well rounded travel guides. This New England one was no exception.

This is a wonderful book to give you a little information about most cities in New England, as well as points of interest. Lots of color pictures and maps of the larger cities.
