Never Mind The Songs, Gil & Gino Rock, February 23, 2001
This review is from: New England Patriots: G.H. 1 (Audio CD)
Just one of a series of sports team salute discs, the New England Patriots disc is a must for Pats fans. The songs are the usual arena favs, but that's not why I bought the disc - it is the radio clips of great Pats moments that are the real draw.
Gil Santos and Gino Cappeletti are the primary play-by-play callers for Patriots radio, and their calls of great Pats moments are a treat. Nostalgia rules in clips from 1978 and also from the clips of Pete Carroll's defeat of ex-Pats coach Bill Parcells in September 1997, of Drew Bledsoe's bombing runs on Minnesota in 1994, and of the slaughter of the Steelers in the 1996 season playoffs.
For a future Pats disc, clips from 1999's Tuna Bowl V, Bledsoe's 21-point-gap erasure against the Colts a week later, and both his November 1998 comeback thrillers with a broken index finger should be included.

Drew Bledsoe Salute & Super Bowl XXXVI Edition Now Vital, February 4, 2002
This review is from: New England Patriots: G.H. 1 (Audio CD)
With their stunning upset of the St. Louis Rams in the most suspensful Super Bowl ever, the New England Patriots are now world champions for the first time in their 42-season history, and given this accomplishment, a new version of the Patriots Greatest Hits disc is necessary, a version covering Drew Bledsoe's career and also the highlights of the Super Bowl season of 2001. Among the radio clips necessary in a new edition -
- Bledsoe's Monday Night rally with a broken finger in November 1998
- The "Pass Interference" Bowl one week later, as Bledsoe and the Patriots overtook Doug Flutie's heavily favored Buffalo Bills in the game's final play.
- September 1999's Tuna Bowl V, one of the closest Patriots-Jets games ever, decided on Adam Vinitiari's game-ending field goal.
- Bledsoe's bombing of the Indianapolis Colts a week later, as the Patriots rallied from 21 points down to win with yet another Vinitiari field goal.
- Tom Brady's debut thrubbing of the Colts in Week Three of 2001.
- The Charger Charge, the 2001 game against Doug Flutie and San Diego that turned the entire 2001 season around.
- Brady's rally from 13-0 to beat the New York Jets.
- The controversial Foxboro Snow Bowl, as the Patriots rally from 13-3 down to win on a Vinitiari overtime field goal.
- Drew Bledsoe's Final Glory - in the AFC title game in Pittsburg, Bledsoe comes off the bench after Brady in hurt, and wins the AFC title for the Patriots.
- Super Bowl XXXVI
Also necessary is a muscial compilation from U2, Mariah Carey, and Paul McCartney, a fitting tribute to America and the Patriots.

Fun for Patriots fans, but could be better, September 15, 2000
This review is from: New England Patriots: G.H. 1 (Audio CD)
The "Patriots Greatest Hits" CD is a treat for Patriots fans, especially those who have been to games at Foxboro Stadium. The collection contains popular songs played during games at Foxboro, as well as actual clips of game action culled from game broadcasts.
While this disc is good, I feel it was not done as well as the "Packers Greatest Hits" collection CD from the same company. That disc is much more energetic, and even includes the "Monday Night Football" theme as well. The game sound bites are often too short, and (while this is not necessarily the fault of the CD company) the older ones can be staticy and hard to understand.
