OF ALL the translation i have read this is by far the most clear . The snytax is the closest to the classical English in use prior to the politisation of current era language. If you have a tradional education ,this book will speak the word of God in the most succinct English ..

I wonder if many folks realize that The New English Bible is not a revision of some previous translation of The King James Version but rather an entirely new translation from original manuscripts including the use of the Dead Sea Scrolls. This information was on the fly-leaf of the very first edition of The New English Bible first published about 1960 (Old Testament). Since so many of the words have changed their meanings over the years since KJV and since there are many translators not just one person who did this entirely new translation, it is my opinion that this is by far the best means to study the Bible and to understand what the Christian Faith is.

I have read the King James Version, the Revised Standard Version, the Peshitta as translated by George Lamsa, and the New English Version. By far the New English Version is easier to read and understand. If you've never read the Bible cover to cover before, try this version it will be easy
