URAC's newest publication, The New Frontier: Exploring eHealth Ethics, confronts head-on the challenges faced by consumers searching for quality health information in the complex, largely unregulated Internet. The book, published jointly with the Internet Healthcare Coalition, focuses on ways in which health Internet sites can respond to those concerns and includes a variety of articles contributed by health care industry leaders, as well as ethical, legal, technological and governmental experts. Topics range from privacy and security issues surrounding patient information, to consumer trust, to assessment in the forms of ethical guidelines and accreditation. It is a valuable resource for members of the health care industry, who are pursuing the ever-expanding venue of the Internet to disseminate health-related facts, advice, and/or services. For the first time ever, the book compiles major influential ethics codes, as well as URAC's Health Web Site Accreditation standards.
