5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant is the only adjective, October 4, 2011
This review is from: The New Hypnosis in Family Therapy (Hardcover)
An excellent book on hypnosis, and self-hypnosis in particular, that vastly increased my understanding of what hypnosis really is. Whilst not a how-to by any means, it is of enormous value to anyone interested in the subject, including those interested in self-hypnosis as self-help.

It helps that the book is extraordinarily well-written, unlike this review.

I would say that the book is indispensable for anyone wishing to understand self-hypnosis, providing, as it does, 'Aha!' moments on virtually every page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Troubled family members deal only with their own projections, November 18, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: The New Hypnosis in Family Therapy (Hardcover)
Family hypnotherapy is the best way to get to the unrealistic perceptions, expectations and interpretations of family members. To help them accept reality and work towards change from it, hypnotherapy puts each family member in touch with what they would want from each other. It also allows them to "experience" in their mind what it would be like to relate to the real siblings, parents or other relatives. <P> Methods to use this approach in family therapy are given, together with many examples of "recovering families." And the time advantages of dealing with families in this manner are exemplified with transcripts from actual sessions
