I purchased this book for my 12 year old son because he was interested in real war stories. This book breaks down World War II with real stories and genuinely professional pictures. He loves the book! They say "a picture paints a thousand words" - that describes this book although it is written carefully with full explanations and many commentaries. Nothing is lacking in this book. I can pick up this book any day and read something new. VERY IMPRESSED. I am a history buff and it's a great HISTORY LESSON!!
It's definately worth the money! A++++++

More like a picture-happy history textbook,

Based on the description of this book, I was expecting tons of pictures with little writing, other than descriptions of the pictures. What I saw, however, was a lot of history...a history book with more than your average amount of pictures. Granted, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but I wanted to buy a book loaded with "rare and unseen photographs" - not a history book. I've got a few of those already.
The book is good - don't get me wrong. It's just not a "picture" book. |
