More aggresive than "Flipping time" and just as awesome !!!,

As told to me by Julien this recording is indeed more aggresive. One of the things that I really love about Kaspar's playing is that he is truly an improviser.I remember going to a G3 concert and observing how Satriani and Eric Johnson were playing solos virtually identical to their recordings.Granted they are great solos but for me I would rather listen at home or in the car or even watch the DVD than(in this case) have to stand up and hear a rehash of what I have heard many times.Buy both of his discs ,you will not be disappointed.

His first cd was a major revelation and this one is even better. May be a bit more experimental, but the jaw dropping tone and phrasing remain and if anything have gotten even more ambitious. No lift musik here, but a challenging and incredibly rewarding listening experience awaits any listener prepared to LISTEN. I loved FLIPPING TIME and couldn't wait to get this. I thought with talent like this, it is bound to be a good release, but just how good is way beyond expectations. If you are into the guitar, this mans musik must be in your collection.
WHAT A TALENT!!!!!

I found out about Julien Kasper via Pandora. As soon as I heard the title track and then 8 to 11 and Jacket full of Bees, I was hooked. WHO is this? I had to get it. Kasper has a Hendrix vibe on some of the tracks mixed with a Jeff Beck fusion heart. If you like instrumental electric guitar music that has more jazz fusion overtones than Satriani stuff, you'll love this new music. His band has chops and I like the organ/guitar workouts. Satriani needs to do more of it - although there are a couple tracks on Black Swans that finally have some keyboards. Satch must have been listening to this!
I give it 4 stars because there's a couple tracks that are hohum compared to the killer tracks. You'll listen to those killer tracks over and over. I burned a copy for the car and works well while driving. Sometimes I have to ask myself - what am I listening to again? It's cool stuff. Go get it. I'll eventually grab the other titles as well. I can't wait for the opportunity to see a live gig of this stuff.
