5.0 out of 5 stars new jim jones, February 6, 2000
By
This review is from: New Jim Jones (Audio CD)
by far, andre nickatina bka dre dog is the most underappreciated rapper alive in my opinion. you have rappers like mase and puff who have no skills, but money rather to back them up and make them famous, yet andre nickatina has pure raw skills to make everyone bop their head and remember his lines. i am fortunate enough to have all of his albums, i hate you with a passion, raven in my eyes, the new jim jones, tears of a clown and cocain raps. i reccomend you do everything you can to get all of his albums because you will never grow old and tired from his songs. hes a lyrical wizard who definately deserves a shot if you are a underground rap fan. be on the look out for his upcoming album cocain raps 2: the daquiri factory.

andre nickatina bka dre dog is bluntly a under appreciated lyrical wizard. there are many rappers, but few possess the lyrical skills which dre dog has. you see wannabe rap artists like mase and puff on mtv and what not, but they have no skills, but rather money to back them up and make them famous, and thats what ticks me off. its people like mase and puff who shouldnt be known at all and its people like dre dog who should be world famous. i am fortunate enough to have all of dre dogs albums: i hate you with a passion, raven in my eyes, the new jim jones, tears of a clown and cocain raps. every single album, including his upcoming album (cocain raps 2: the daquiri factory) are a must buy. you will never grow tired of his songs because when you listen to any of his songs, you are bound to hear a lyric or so that will get stuck in your head. his lyrical skills combined with ill beats make for an awesome rapper who will keep your head bobbin for as long as you own his albums.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most underrated rap album..., June 25, 2004
By
This review is from: New Jim Jones (Audio CD)
I've been fan of West Coast rap since NWA. I discovered this cd in high school, and it still is one of my all-time favorites. This album, along with "I Hate You With a Passion" are, in my opinion, Dre Dog's (now Andre Nickatina) best albums. "Smoke Dope and Rap" is probably one of the best rap songs of all time; Dre Dog's raps are just unreal. Good beats, original and distinct rhymes make this cd the deal. Do yourself a favor and get this.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like Bay Area or Underground Rap Listen to this, December 13, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: New Jim Jones (Audio CD)
Dre Dog aka Andrea Nickatina aka Jim Jones comes tight on this album. His beats are some of the sickest around and his vocals are dope as they come. This was Dre Dog's first album and one of his best. My favorite track on this album is #4 Smoke Dope and Rap. Other favorite tracks of mine are #3 The Ave # 8 Jim Jones posse and #2 Most Hated Man In Frisco. Dre Dog also comes mad tight with a freestyle on track #5 Off the Chewy. If you like this album Check his second Relase I Hate You With a Passion. Unlike some clowns seem to believe Dre Dog has other albums out. He now goes by the name of Andrea Nickatina. I think only reason Dre Dog blown up big is because he is from the Bay Area and a lot of Bay Area rappers don't get much expousre.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Bible of rap., November 17, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: New Jim Jones (Audio CD)
This is by far one of the greatest rap albums of all-time. Dre Dog(andre nickatina) can lay it down for real like nobody else ever would dream. He is not your every day E-40 wanna-be bay rapper trying a little to hard to be a player. There are 3 or 4 songs that with out the parent advisory handicap would have made Dre Dog a sure pop star. His lyrical skills, amazing voice, raw truth and, humor have you repeating such ground lines as " I snort so much snow they call me Dre Blow ", " I smoke chewy like a mutha f*cking nut gotta dime bag grab the zag role her up", " chewy got me high/ got visine for the tight red eyes" and , " I should buy a cemetery and get much bigger / make money of you dead as n**gers". Everybody I know who ever heard this album says it is in there top ten. In my mind Dre Dog is the center piece of a slew of underrated talented bay area rappers who can bust with the likes of anyone in the world. I recommend this album to anyone who can hear. I broke my original CD and almost cried. Buy this cd anywhere you can while you still can.

5.0 out of 5 stars All I gotta say is Underrated & Underappreciated., May 14, 2004
This review is from: New Jim Jones (Audio CD)
I'm from LA, and I had never heard of Dre Dog until 1994. However, since then I've been a huge fan. Dre Dog may not have the huge financial backing that other, much less talented rappers have, but he has the skills and creativity to blow them out of the water. His raps are dark and complex, so you know that he definitely has something to say. In my opinion, this album is a classic, and it should be put on the same level as 'Ruthless By Law,' 'In A Major Way,' and 'Straight Out The Labb.'

If you don't have this album, you need to get it and his other albums: 'Hate You With A Passion,' 'Raven In My Eyes,' and 'The Daiquiri Factory.' Sick lyrics and phat beats characterize his albums. Whatever you do, don't sleep on the Most Hated Man in Frisco.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dre dog the highest of all rappers "I give him 13 stars", May 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: New Jim Jones (Audio CD)
Dre dog is my favorite rapper from them all, one of his hardest songs are chocolate tye, you can only find it on "The Ave." single so if you come across it buy it. He is as real as they come. Other good artist from up north are 5150(not Eazy E), the brotha lynch 24 deep, X raided, I recommend that you buy these if you come across them but they are a little old but hard. The Raven im my Eyes is hard to (Dre dogs new CD now known as Andre Nicatina).

4.0 out of 5 stars Dre Dog is the illest, May 1, 2004

This review is from: New Jim Jones (Audio CD)
Most cats(mostly people who listen to tha radio) that had listen to dre dog had said his ryhmes make no sense, he has no heat, beats are retarded, blah, blah..... dont understand the origanlity and creativity that dre dog(Andre Nickatina) has to offer. All of his tracks are sicc Especially "most hated man in frisco","smoke, dope, and rap", and "the ave."Just because I only rated this album a 4 doesnt mean its not a great cd its just he has better cds and to me 5 stars are classics. If you like this then you will love "I hate you with passion" and "raven in my eyes" two other great(if not greater) Cds he has. but if u do not this cd or his other then i suggest you stick to your boring an played out mainstream rappers becuase right here is only for hip hop fans that know whats real talent.

Dre Dog A.K.A. Andre Nickatina is the sickest rapper in the bay. In fact i put him among the best. With that said this album has some classics for the underground scene. If you pass this album up don't bother buying any more cause it won't be worth it. You must keep in mind that this is a gangsta rap cd and it is as gangsta as is comes. The stand out tracks are "Smoke, Dope and Rap", "the Ave.", and "Off that chewy". Even if you don't like this album. Look for more nicky cause he varys his speed and delivery for song to so you never know what your going to get.
