5.0 out of 5 stars Great cd
This is one of my favorite cds i own. If your into a lot of hardcore punk, this cd might sound a little whiny at first, but after a couple listenings you'll realize that this album is full of energy and passion. After a while you'll be singing along with enthusiasm. It has great guitar riffs, awesome vocals, and meaningful political lyrics. I recommend this cd if it's...

3.0 out of 5 stars In retrospect, Anti-Flag can do better... And did!
First off, I give three stars to this CD when comparing it to other CD's done by Anti-Flag. But to compare it to Punk CD's in general, it deserves five stars all the way.

Having moved away from their 70's Punk theme in Die For the Government, and the awful filler material known as Their System doesn't Work for You, A New Kind of Army defines the style of Anti-Flag that...

5.0 out of 5 stars ANTI-FLAG ROCKS!!!, January 24, 2003
By
This review is from: New Kind of Army (Audio CD)
I love this c.d. Bottom line, I LOVE IT! It is honest, straightforward and down to the point. With snarling vocals remeniscent of Johnny Rotten (Sex Pistols), and scratchy distorted guitars that give off a punk rock vibe, this band is as good as it gets. Anti-Flag is one of my favorite bands of all time, Justin Sanes lyrics are so true and they really influenced my ideas on so many issues. And for anyone that thinks that Anti-Flag is a band that just "whines" about issues while doing nothing to solve them, then you need to do your homework. Maybe then you'd find out that Anti-Flag are part of MANY orginizations that are anti-war, anti-hate etc...they even played at/attended an anti-war protest in Washington D.C. on January 18. 2003...they are an all around good band. The lyrics Sane writes are heart-felt and true. If you are in search of a good punk rock band, then search no more. Anti-Flag is for you. Also, check out Justin Sanes solo album "Life, Liberty, and the Persuit of Happiness", it rocks! Later

5.0 out of 5 stars Billy-Bob, no, November 23, 1999
This review is from: New Kind of Army (Audio CD)
Billy-bob, you dont listen. This cd is NOT antiamerica. i mean, read the darn liner notes kiddo.....and they arent british, they are from philly. Ok, with the bashing aside, this CD is possibly the best, most politically correct (not used in the way the US uses it) album ive ever heard. The music is great, its fast, the drums are phenomenale, the vocals are just amazing, and the songs are funny, witty, moving, and sometimes left me speechless. Trust me, this is the best CD ive ever bought.

4.0 out of 5 stars Anti-Flag, December 9, 2005
This review is from: New Kind of Army (Audio CD)
Anti-flag are a typical example of political punk. Their use of brassy guitars, heavy bass, mental drum rhythm and protesting lyrics make it perfect for the punks that are angry how their govenment works. This is mixed with the fustration of hearing that punk is dead and the raising population of emo's. If you like punk, this is purfect for you! if you like indie, hard-line, metal or emo music... I would stay away.

5.0 out of 5 stars an actual punk band among rip offs, August 25, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: New Kind of Army (Audio CD)
Unlike all of their peers, anti-flag aren't full of [stuff]. Their lyrics actually have a purpse and meaning, and their music is raw and relentless, like punk is supposed to be. The music sort of reminds me of black flag, but justion sane's vocals are defintiely unique.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rock On!, November 15, 1999

I went to a DKM show and Anti-Flag was opening for them. I was totally blown away! The passion and love these guys play with is incredible. I give massive repect to any band that can open with a d--- good cover of "White Riot." Thier CD represents everything good about the first amendment. But however good their CD is, their live show is 10,000 times better. Check 'em out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Its simple BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, September 12, 2003

This review is from: New Kind of Army (Audio CD)
Is this a free nation? Do you question the Govt? Why do people tell lies about the Prez? Are they really lies? How come I don't have a choice about going to war? Who do I ask? A police man? A teacher? My uncle who fought in an meaningless hate/greed war? NO! Lies are rampant in the world of salute and follow. This album opened my eyes to the lies and greed that is going on in the world. I've seen it first hand. Justin Sane is a great and original vocalist. The lyrics are great and hard hitting. Buy it! And join an Army "A New Kind of Army". Peace and Love- Rich

Perfect CD for you young Socialists. Got The Numbers, in my opinion was the best track on the CD. It totally represents the proletariat people. They lay out a strong message for todays youth, that are fed up with corporate greed. The Consumer Song, is great for people who work and dont understand what they get for their loyalty. Revolution!

5.0 out of 5 stars the music of my life, April 26, 2000

"killjoy-punk" (washington state) - See all my reviews
This review is from: New Kind of Army (Audio CD)
i am a person with a diverse taste in music. it ranges form punk to ska to even industrial, but anti flag has reached me intellectually and musically. they're music, though seeming loud and chaotic, changed my life. they're words conveyed through these songs has made me more aware of the governmenet an the coruption in it. like for instance the consumer song: that made me want to go at the front line of the WTO protest, and in token, i did. this is how deep these songs go to me, they've somehow mysteriously tapped into my soul and made me think. i would recommend this album to anyone who wants a greater understanding of who messed up life in these united states are. it has changed my life, and it may change yours as well.
