Product Description

New Life Spectrum foods simply use better ingredients, like krill and herring rather than just fishmeals, to ensure that your fish get all the nutrients required for maximum vitality.

It seems to float though, I didn't have the sinking issue.

HIGHLY recommended by serious Betta owners as one of the most nutritious foods available aside from live.
Tosha Ginese
Plus, the pellets are small for bettas who have trouble swallowing bigger pieces.

I have so many different kinds of pellets. About 7 different brands. I read that some expand in water - so they would expand in betta's stomach causing constipation and bloating. So I tested all my brands. Spectrum was the only pellet after 10 minutes that did not expand. My betta loves it. I give him 2 in the morning and 2 at night.

This is excellent. My bettas love it and it floats for a minute before sinking, giving them plenty of time to eat before they drop. This in combination with frozen bloodworms and daphnia keeps them very healthy and happy.

My only problem is that there's so much of it, but the expiration date is like three years away, so that shouldn't be a problem.

After doing some much reading on the dietary needs for betta splendens, I decided that my four boys Anubis, Ra, Ramses, and Khufu deserved something better than Hikari Bio-Gold pellets. I have read that when it comes to food for bettas, the first main ingredient should be more specific than fish meal and should list the actual fish like antartic krill and/or herring. While on a recent trip to my favorite pet store chain, I came across New Life Spectrum Betta formula. I have read on my favorite betta fish forum that a few users uses this particular brand of pellets. After reading the ingredients which lists antartic krill as its first ingredient, I decided to get it (along with some flakes as an additional source of protein). I have to admit I was nervous about how my boys would take to their new food. Thankfully they are all pigs and aren't fussy. My only beef with NLS is that they don't float too long. If you soak them (as a lot of people advise to prevent constipation), the pellets sinks. Overall I definitely recommend New Life Spectrum Betta Formula. There is more protein as well as an array of healthy ingredients like fruits and vegetables in the ingredient. My four bettas can vouch for me.

This is about the 4th thing I've tried for my very picky betta, and SUCCESS! It reeks to high heaven, but I assume that just means it's that more tantalizing to my fish.

It came in good timing. My betta gets excited when he gets it. My only problem is that it doesn't float. Its getting my betta so excited to see me and yet I have to hover awhile to feed him one by one. What I am doing is just now is that I place a couple of another brand that floats and drop a couple of this. Get him moving.

I suggest keeping a turkey baster that you use to clean your tank nearby.

This food is of great quality. I purchased a pitifully pale orange betta from Walmart just to test the abilities of this food and wow... in 3 weeks he went from listless and orange to an aggressive and flashy blood red male. I also recommend this food because it contains garlic which has anti parasitic properties. Also you will never run out..

My betta loves this food.He is really happy. This food is very nutritious and also
has some fruits ,vegetables and garlic.

I read that other reviewers say that it does not float. In my case I saw that they float
long enough so my betta can eat it.

Also it is easy to eat because the pellets are small.

But remember to add variety to yours betta's diet.
Buy also other type of food.

I bought this for my betta when I found out that I'd been feeding him marine fish food for the past year. His belly had swelled up so that he was twice his size and his spine was curved, and once I determined that he wasn't dying from dropsy, someone recommended starting him on actual betta food since the marine food had most likely clogged him up. He doesn't eat much, but seems to like it well enough. I like that it's specially formulated for bettas.
