Hard rock and blues at its best,
By
This review is from: New Machine (Audio CD)
The GoodVocalist Robin McAuley super-charges "Exit Sign" with his high-pitched blusey vocal tones. The bridge supplies some great backing vocals, while guitarist David Vaccaro supplies the licks and bends. "Somebody Like You" has one of the choruses that will get stuck in your head for days. The blending of vocal harmonies really drive the track home. Vaccaro once again lays down the blusey grooves for "Disclaimer." That's not where it ends though, he also gets behind the mic with a soulful performance. David returns for an encore with "Time to Move On." "Desert Run" is an instrumental guitar track that sets the scene of barrelling down the road in the middle of nowhere with the breeze in your hair. "Tangled in Your Web" is dominated by a think bass line and funky guitar picking. "Back to My Baby" is an emotional power ballad accented by killer guitar runs. The Bad Nothing notable The Verdict New Machine is hard rock and blues at its best. Vaccaro and McAuley reach back in time to revive a classic sound and make it new and refreshing again.
