5.0 out of 5 stars This is what to get with a SmartMedia device
Although "New Media Technology" SmartMedia cards cost less than name brand cards, they are functionally identical.

I have found that the most effective way to use a SmartMedia card, like this one, is with an external USB card reader. (I use a Feiya USB unit... it works seamlessly and costs less than the "New Media Technology" version because it...

3.0 out of 5 stars doesn't work with Olympus D-340R Digital Camera
This is available as an accessory for the Olympus D-340R Digital Camera, but this camera can only handle a maximum of the 16 MB version

5.0 out of 5 stars This is what to get with a SmartMedia device, February 25, 2000
This review is from: New Media Technology 32 MB SmartMedia Card (NMT00733) (Personal Computers)
Although "New Media Technology" SmartMedia cards cost less than name brand cards, they are functionally identical.

I have found that the most effective way to use a SmartMedia card, like this one, is with an external USB card reader. (I use a Feiya USB unit... it works seamlessly and costs less than the "New Media Technology" version because it doesn't read CompactFlash.) These readers are the absolute fastest method of transferring photos/files/MP3s or whatever.

But please note that 64MB SmartMedia cards will be widely available soon. Because the 64MB cards' cost-per-megabyte is currently lower than the 32's, the price of these 32MB cards might be forced down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great card but not compatible with CLIK! IOMEGA Drive, September 25, 1999

This review is from: New Media Technology 32 MB SmartMedia Card (NMT00733) (Personal Computers)
32 meg card is almost equivilent to 36 exposure film roll in Olympus C-2000 SHQ mode. Internally, the card is formatted differently than less capacity SmartMedia cards. It cannot be read by my IOMEGA CLIK! drive and although difficult to find in the IOMEGA documentation, they admit it is incompatible and are NOT planning to fix the problem. I use the DELKIN PCMCIA SmartMedia card reader which AMAZON sells for $40 and it works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars 32 Meg Smart Media & Flashpath Adapter, December 1, 1999
This review is from: New Media Technology 32 MB SmartMedia Card (NMT00733) (Personal Computers)
The 32 meg Flashpath Floppy's work fine. Visit the flashpath manufacturer website and download latest driver. Works great! I have a Toshiba Flashpath adapter and updated the drivers.

Good Luck

1.0 out of 5 stars Card not compatible with Toshiba Flash Path, September 21, 1999
This review is from: New Media Technology 32 MB SmartMedia Card (NMT00733) (Personal Computers)
I use an Olympus C-2000 Z Digital camera. (Buy one from Amazon. They are great.) I use 8 mb Smart Cards and read them into my computer with Toshiba's Flash Path. (Uses your standard 3 1/2 in floppy drive. No cables to a serial port! No unhooking mouses etc.)

This New Media Smart Card works fine in the camera, but is not compatible with Flash Path. For me, that makes it useless. New Media sells its own card reader that you have to hook up to your computer port. Flash Path's method is MUCH better.

Maybe there is some way to make it compatible. My e-mail address should accompany this review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Card IS compatible with FlashPath - Get driver, September 25, 1999

After some frustration, I found out you can download a driver for the 32Mb cards from Toshiba America. It downloads as a ZIP file. Download it and unZip it it the FlashPath directory. Then re-run the setup.exe file from that directory, (not your FlashPath disk) Sorry for the first message.
