New Moon,
This review is from: New Moon (The Moon Series, Book 6) (Mass Market Paperback)
On a camping trip to gather plants for his landscape business, Logan Marshall is caught in a magical trap while out for a run. A run in his wolf form. Logan Marshall is a werewolf. With his strength drained Logan is unable to escape on his own. When a female werewolf comes to his rescue, Logan is both relieved and surprised. He's never seen a female werewolf before.
Rinna is a shapeshifter from a parallel universe. The trap that captured Logan was meant for her. Saving him, may mean being captured herself. But leaving him to the mercy of his captor is not an option. From the first it is clear to Logan that Rinna could be more than his savior, she could be his lifemate. I really have this thing for werewolves. I also am a big fan of romantic suspense. Rebecca York is a master at combining the two. New Moon is the latest page turner in the heart pounding Moon series. Logan is so tender and compassionate that I can't imagine any other for the strong yet cautious Rinna. Logan is a hero we can all lust for! It's not just the romance that will keep you squirming on the edge of your seat, New Moon is very suspenseful. I was so torn. I couldn't wait for them to be out of danger but I didn't want the story to be over either. I loved New Moon and I am impatient for more of Rebecca York's Moon series! NEW MOON
REBECCA YORK ISBN# 978-0-425-21602-6 March 2007 Berkley Sensation; Penguin Group 375 Hudson Street, New York, N.Y. 10014 Paperback $7.99 US/ $10.99 Canada 321 Pages Paranormal Rating: 5 cups Rinna is from a different universe, one where she is a slave, but has extensive psychic abilities as well as being a shape-shifter. Rinna is running for her life, from a man who has already raped her and wants her dead. That is when she finds a wolf in a trap meant for her, a wolf she later learns is Logan Marshall. Logan Marshall cannot believe the beauty who has found him. Rinna helps him escape and takes him to another dimension. Logan can hardly believe where he is, all he knows is there are warriors after Rinna and him, and he needs to heal to help save them. But Logan also learns that Rinna just may be the mate he has hungered for. As Rinna and Logan run for their lives, they search for a portal that will take them back to Logan's home. But during all their running they came across a building holding enough equipment to start a war but a war on who or where? Rinna believe it is earth and now Logan knows it all has to be stopped. While Rinna and Logan get to know one another, Rinna realizes that Logan is like no man she has ever known, but even if they got out of all of this alive, could she trust Logan with her heart? SENSATIONAL! Once again Ms. York creates another fabulous tale that continues on with her Moon series, keeping her plots delightfully refreshing and the romance sinfully wicked. Fascinating characters that you get to know, and some secondary characters you may already know, this story takes off at lightening speed and it does not stop until the very end. Cleverly laid out plots and several twists and turns keeps this story energized, while the romance keeps you tantalized. As a fan of Ms. York I cannot say enough about this series, an absolute must read. Wateena Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance Reviewer for Karen Find Out About New Books

Logan Marshall has come to the conclusion that he is missing a vital piece of his life - a mate. Seeing his brothers and cousins find their mates and become content with their lives really points this out to him. Logan is a strong and solitary man who has a protective streak a mile wide and the events in this book push the limit of his control over his beast and his heart.
Rinna is a unique woman from a parallel universe. She is a shape shifter and female warewolves aren't supposed to exist in Logan's universe. Rinna has overcome a hard life to live a harder and more desolate one. Through her psychic gifts, she has learned how to cross over into Logan's universe for a respite from her desolate life and a free run as a wolf. Falcone is an evil man from Rinna's universe and he is coming after her. He wants to control Rinna and her psychic gifts. Logan has planted himself right in the middle of her fight. Can they escape Falcone's grasp together? Will they be able to find a life with each other in all their running? NEW MOON is a refreshing story told with a new light and a few twists I couldn't see coming. Ms. York brought some wonderfully strong characters into this book with Logan and Rinna. Their love is a pure and caring love that brings tears to the reader's eyes. She reprised some of our beloved characters from previous books and they helped to complete this story. NEW MOON is a definite "must read" in this clever series! Please note: I did not write this review. I'm posting it on behalf of Staci. Review courtesy of Romance Junkies: [...]

Out of this WORLD and lunarly NEW!,

This review is from: New Moon (The Moon Series, Book 6) (Mass Market Paperback)
Rebecca York has reinvented the world of werewolves and shape shifters! NEW MOON adds a decided new twist to the world of the Marshall men and their families. From the first chapter to the last, readers of her Moon Series are taken on a ride filled with new places and new characters--including a frightening and formidable villain. But as with her previous books, she brings back the characters you've grown to know and love.
I loved all the twists and turns in this book and I also loved discovering new creative sides to Rebecca York with her ability to take a beloved series in a new direction. She had me chomping at the bit to find out what she's going to come up with next for the Marshall family. With her introduction of Rinna, a strong female personality who is also a shape shifter with many talents, Rebecca York shows us once again how important strong women are in her very alpha male world. Speaking of shape shifting - WOW - check it out.... Rebecca York's booktrailer has more surprises.... This is a must read for all paranormal fans! And for the new reader, all I can say is "Welcome to the Rebecca York world at its best!" This book can more than stand alone - but, for those of us hooked on her Moon Series, it's an exciting new adventure that will keep all of us panting for more New Moon (Berkley Sensation)

I'm so glad to read the conclusion of the Rinna story. The reader was introduced to her in the previous novel and was left hanging. Rinna lives in an alternate universe where magic and paranormal abilities were cultivated and became the prime factor for running things. Yet, instead of progress, her world seemed to backslide into slavery and prejudges. Rinna is one of those slaves, also a shapeshifter, that is running from a power hungry ruler. She finds a passagway into our world and comes across Logan, caught in a trap left by those chasing her. She saves Logan's life and the two are on the run.
What Logan realizes in no time flat, is that Rinna is his mate. She is what he has longed for and hoped for ever since his own brothers and cousin have found theirs and he has had to watch their love from afar. Only problem, Rinna comes with more than her own share of baggage. It's up to Logan to help her get through it all.

Continually coming up with new concepts,

New Moon opens a new chapter in York's Moon Series. I've read some series where the writer makes up a formula and keeps writing similar books over and over. This never happens with York's Moon books. She's continually coming up with new concepts, and the parallel universe introduced in New Moon is a perfect example. I can't wait to see how she uses this fascinating world in future books.
Rinna is a strong heroine-a shape-shifting woman who has been seriously damaged by a power-hungry man from her universe. Yet she has the grit to go up against this powerful psychic who means to destroy her. She's a warrior when she needs to fight. Yet she's afraid to let herself love-until she meets Logan Marshall, the man whose gentle lovemaking changes everything for her. I loved this book and I'm waiting for Ms. York's next one.

A blending of Sci-Fi and Romance that entertains,
By Sarah N. "Sarah da booklover" (Navasota) - See all my reviews
This review is from: New Moon (The Moon Series, Book 6) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have read all of Ms. York's series and I have enjoyed them all. As they have progressed, she brings out a little something different. The first books are relatively tame, with a simple love story that just so happens to involve werewolves who fall in love, in situations that take advantage of their unique attributes.
In this most recent book from the Moon series, Ms. York goes to a whole new world - literally. Logan Marshall is a lanscape architect and werewolf who finds himself in a dangerous and life-threatening situation. Only the help of a shapeshifter named Rinna can help him. We got a glimpse of Rinna in the previous book, Shadow of the Moon. This time, Rinna takes Logan back to her world - a parallel version of what might have, could have happened to us. This book still manages to have its familiar elements, but it also goes in new directions. If you like books that surprise and intrigue you, this book should do it. And the Marshall men are all hot! :)

sixth Moon werewolf romance,
This review is from: New Moon (The Moon Series, Book 6) (Mass Market Paperback)
Shapeshifter Rinna hides in the United States from devious Falcone, the leader of her alternate world. However, her enemy has set traps to capture her as he hunts her with plans to kill her. In one of the traps, Rinna finds werewolf Logan Marshall caught. Using her magical skills, she frees him.
Logan is stunned because no female has ever been a werewolf as far as he knows; yet his rescuer is a beautiful woman. Even more shocking to Logan is that this Rinna is his mate. When they journey to her world, he knows he must keep his beloved safe from an evil that hunts her and by association him. The sixth Moon werewolf romance lives up to its adverb title of New as dimensional and time travel add a touch of science fiction to the mix enabling the introduction of a female shapeshifter into the York universe. Rinna and Logan are a fabulous pairing and his clan (stars of previous books) in limited support roles adds depth to understanding the hero. In some ways the brilliant diabolical Falcone steals the show as he comprehends that in order to keep or expand power much is show (think of the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain. Fans of werewolf romantic suspense especially Rebecca York's bewitching series will appreciate the spin that NEW MOON takes. Harriet Klausner

New Story...New World...New Moon!,

This review is from: New Moon (The Moon Series, Book 6) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was a wonderful blend of paranormal and science fiction. Logan, one of the Marshall family men, from a long line of werewolves, is accidentally trapped while in wolf form.
Rinna is from another world. The trap was for her. She helps Logan get out of the trap, and Logan wants to help her escape the evil man trying to capture her. I love a book that has a lot of adventure, but never strays too far from the relationship, the love and the characters. Definately it is the characters that make this book so special. You find yourself becoming a part of the story, living through them, with them, at every turn, and with every kiss. The author takes a new turn with this book, and whether you're already a fan of this series, or just picking starting with it, this book is sure to be a satisfying read! |
