I discovered the wonderfully talented Jana in 2006 when I purchased American Indian Christmas. It can be listened to at any time of the year for the beauty of the carols, when sung by Jana in the Native Languages, are transformed into a completely new experience. I then started to collect every recording I could find by Jana, and love each one. She is so very talented, and can take any music genre and make it her own, with her voice and songwriting. New Moon Born is her best yet, and she just keeps getting better, growing and evolving. Real soul, jazz, purity, clarity, I just can't say enough about Jana, who should be recognized so much more for her talent, as evidenced in the new CD. All tracks just seem to flow into one another seamlessly. Jana is a fantastic voice,a great Native American lady,and this is a CD to listen to over and over again.

I've seen Jana live 3 or 4 times. She is a great entertainer. I was disapointed with her firefly cd but this one is a lot better. She does a great job singing cover songs at her live concerts and I wonder why she doesn't include covers on her albums. That and not enough uptempo dance or rockin out songs are my only suggestions for improvement. She has a magical quality to her voice on this album. Her songwriting has definately improved. Mostly midtempo ballads with intelligent lyrics. Their are no duds on the album as it flows in a soothing, beautiful flight from track to track. There is some heart felt r&b soul within these songs as well as gospel and spanish influence in others. Some of these tracks are really stand out material such as "For Just One Night", "Take me Back", and the sung in spanish "Una Noche" among others. This album really sends you to a good place. After repeated playings it only gets better. It has a lot of heart. Jana is a nice lady always working to help out native american kids and a great talent. I hope more people discover her. This is her best recording yet and I can confidently recommend it to others as a beautiful musical experience. Give Jana a try with this one. This is a voice the world should get to know.

All I can say is you haven't lived until you've listened to Jana! New range and style for this release. Same absolute perfection. You feel her spirit and energy in every word. If you already loved Jana's voice from before, you will now love her even more. How often do you find something so special that you never tire of playing it? You've got to experience these tracks for yourself, then you'll understand. Definitely her best work yet. Don't be selfish -- spread the word!!!

I've liked Jana Mashonee for awhile now but this new album is incredible. Her vocal range has reached a peak of sensuality that makes you sit back and say "Wow!" I love the new songs, of course have my favorites, but I play it from track 1 to the last track and start it again. If you've never heard this artist, this is the record to start with...then you can fall in love with the others!

I've been listening to Jana since her debut album " Flash of a Firefly"
in 2005. She has proven herself to be an extraordinary Talent. With her "New Moon Born" Album She has opened her heart and it's a beautiful warm place! her fantastic voice, and excellent team, have made a masterpiece! From first to last a journey through love and hope. A must have album for anyone who loves great music. I can not stop listening to her. In the world we live in, with all our problems, Jana is a breath of fresh air, and sunshine. Warm yourselves by her fire! you will NOT! be disappointed. She is a True Hero. Jana has proven her abilities and her strength. She has found her wings and like a beautiful Hawk she will touch the sky! *****ALWAYS*****

I was first introduced to Jana through her Christmas CD - I received it as a gift. I then bought American Indian Story - which has turned into one of my favorite albums of all time. I found the music on this CD to be very different from the other two CDs - much more standard style pop. But still wonderful - her voice is very unique and beautiful. I would definitely recomend this album to others.
