5.0 out of 5 stars A must have baby item!
I love my New Native sling! I have used it so many times and find it very easy to use and very versatile. My baby is a very chubby guy and at 9 months he is 24 pounds and still fits in the sling. He loves it too, whenever we are out shopping or even at home and he is a little fussy I put him in the sling and he calms right down and snuggles in. I've even nursed while...

1.0 out of 5 stars You can not return!
I ordered this item based on the great rating it got, yet when I received it I was unimpressed and found the size measurements to be wrong. I ordered a medium based on the manufacturer's notes yet when received found I needed a longer one. After researching how to return, since it came with no information on this, I found out you can not return this product from this...

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have baby item!, January 5, 2006

I love my New Native sling! I have used it so many times and find it very easy to use and very versatile. My baby is a very chubby guy and at 9 months he is 24 pounds and still fits in the sling. He loves it too, whenever we are out shopping or even at home and he is a little fussy I put him in the sling and he calms right down and snuggles in. I've even nursed while walking around..in many places: Costco, Disneyland, Walmart! Very discreet. I also love the fact that it is small enough to fold up and put in my diaper bag, so I always have it. No bulky rings or padding. I'm buying them for all my family with babies! I love it, and I've gotten lots of compliments on it. A must have item!

I love this sling! I didn't bother to learn how to use it with my first child, but I am so glad I did with the second. It is wonderful. It was hard to learn because I didn't have anyone to teach me, but the website has video instructions, which are so easy to follow. I learned with a doll. I can nurse in it anywhere, and he almost always falls asleep as soon as he's in it. It helps me have hands free to play with my toddler. I think this will become a staple with me and my future babies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best pouch ever, April 28, 2006

Spend the money, it's easier than back packs or slings with rings, folds up into a purse, can use it anywhere, sturdy. Don't bother with the knock-offs, this is the only one I've found that works. Love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This sling is a must have for us!, September 2, 2006
This review is from: New Native Baby Carrier: Black Medium (chest size 34-37") (Baby Product)
These slings have been an essential part of being parents. Both my husband and I use New Native slings on a daily basis. We've been 'wearing' our daughter since day one and continue to now that she is three months. This helped me tremendously in getting to 'know' my baby. It allows me to be responsive immediately to her needs because I can read her cues before she gets to a full blown cry. It helps me accomplish tasks around the house and makes shopping/running errands easy. We do not even own the detachable infant carseats. I cannot imagine having to lug one of those things around! I feel like this had helped her transition from her womb environment to the outside world. It gives her a sense of security even in new situations. Unlike front facing carriers, she can turn her head into our chests if she feels insecure or overstimulated. There are endless benefits to 'wearing' your baby and I feel like this sling has made it incredibly easy for me and my husband to do so. There are no buckles or rings or fasteners, just slide it on.
If at first you don't succeed, try again later. It may be more comfortable for you and baby at a different stage. Another tip, get moving! The motion is what soothes babies and brings them comfort.
Again, baby wearing is such a wonderful thing. I suggest you read up on the benefits and find a sling/carrier that works well for you.
We recommend this one to all new parents and have never had anyone complain!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST SLING!!!, September 23, 2006
This review is from: New Native Baby Carrier: Black Medium (chest size 34-37") (Baby Product)
I have used many slings in the past and this sling is by far the best!!!
It is easy to use- and to learn to use. Our baby loves her sling- and settles down immediatly after we put her in it. I can clean my house, walk our dog, shop, etc. and she is nestled safely in her sling. My husband also wears this sling and states, "It is the best baby product we bought!" Likewise, it is lightweight and we live in a very hot climate- she doesn't get too hot in this sling. I used mine every day for several hours a day- and as I write this, our daughter is nestled in with me! This is a must have item for any new mom or dad!

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Basic but Runs Small, May 13, 2007

This review is from: New Native Baby Carrier: Black Medium (chest size 34-37") (Baby Product)
We bought this sling because we wanted something pretty basic that isn't oversized and overpadded. The only things I would warn other propective buyers of are these:
1. I agree with another reviewer that the sizing is off. It runs a little small, especially after washing. Buy a size bigger than you think you need.
2. There is no way to adjust the sling. It's one size without any buckle mechanism, so there is no way to adjust it as the baby grows, or depending on how high or low you want him/her to sit in it.
Overall, I recommend buying another sling that you are able to try on and test out in person. I would probably not have bought this particular sling if I hadn't been too lazy to do that!

5.0 out of 5 stars For the minimalist mama, January 14, 2010
This review is from: New Native Baby Carrier: Black Medium (chest size 34-37") (Baby Product)
Not as pretty as the ones with rings, but the mamas with the ring slings are constantly stuck adjusting. This one is comfortable, safe, folds to the size of a thick dinner napkin, and is machine washable. The company pushes you towards the smaller size if you're in between, so I've wondered if I may not have liked the next size up even better.

3.0 out of 5 stars didn't work well for me, September 26, 2009

It's a high quality item for a decent price, but I could never get us comfy in this shape of carrier. It doesn't support baby's back enough for me to go hands free. I think my son slept in it one time, but I wasn't ever able to relax. I am happier with a meitai style front carrier, or the Ergo for hip carrying.
