5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Buying for Poetry Written In Gasoline
Probably one of Refuseds best songs, the 7 minute epic Poetry Written In Gasoline is on this EP. Any Refused fan knows the title track, one of the best hardcore songs ever. Blind Date and the remix of Refused are (...) great songs too making for a great buy, especially for any Refused fan.

2.0 out of 5 stars Say what?!?!?
I fell in love with Refused's single "New Noise" while watching the movie "Friday Night Lights." That tune really sets the stage for the nuclear tension of a high school championship football game between Odessa Permian and Dallas Carter. And since this single is AWOL on the motion picture soundtrack (a big mistake, in my humble opine), I went looking elsewhere for more...

This is a great CD from The Refused. Very interesting band with a unique sound from their other CD. I definitely would recommend this.

4.0 out of 5 stars New Noise Theology Indeed, December 15, 2000

I have friends who are bigger punk fans than I am, or likely ever will be, and one in particular that told me over and over again to check out this band. I finally did, choosing this ep over other choices out of a desire to save a few bucks in case I did not like it. Man was I ever wrong. The music moves and thrashes and smacks with a vitality and vigor and brashness that is nearly endangering to the listener. Now, I am sure that there are, again, bigger, and better informed, fans of punk that might disagree but that not withstanding I can do nothing but heap praise on a fistful of songs that had me back to lifting weights and reshaving my head after only a single listening. I look forward to more from this dangerously accessible and potent Swedish-based band. And if anyone wants to disagree they can come talk to me, I'll set 'em straight.

I fell in love with Refused's single "New Noise" while watching the movie "Friday Night Lights." That tune really sets the stage for the nuclear tension of a high school championship football game between Odessa Permian and Dallas Carter. And since this single is AWOL on the motion picture soundtrack (a big mistake, in my humble opine), I went looking elsewhere for more of this band's music, culminating in my picking up Refused's THE NEW NOISE THEOLOGY E.P.

I locked 'n loaded, and got ready to rock.

Don't get me wrong: "New Noise" is literally orgasmic, it's so forkling good; it's throbbing, grinding, angry punk just barely under control. The problem is, there are three other E.P. tracks on this CD, and all three stink. These cuts are redundant, bland, boring. . .non-threatening. It's like two different bands are on this record: one playing kick-arse, the other playing bilge.

Very disappointing.

Having listened to THE NEW NOISE THEOLOGY CD, I'm still a huge fan of Refused's title track. I'm just not a fan of any of their other stuff.
