4.0 out of 5 stars A solid album, but "Astral Doors" have the potential to deliver landmarks in metal
"New revelation" is the fourth album by Swedish heavy metal band "Astral Doors", originally released in 2007. "Astral Doors" play bombastic heavy metal that has its roots in the 70s and 80s, integrating riffs, melodies and lyrics that make direct reference to iconic acts of the genre such as "Rainbow", "Dio", and "The scorpions". Only first song. Believe me, only first song. I don't want to rate to other song. What is there this album. There are bad vocal, bad sound and ordinary (as tough) power songs.

Never spend your money this product.

Never buy it. No regret!!

The line up features Nils Partik Johansson (v), Johan Linstedt (d), Joachim Nordlund (g), Martin Haglund (g), Mika Itaranta (b) and Joakim Roberg (k).

Amongst fans, "Astral Doors" are also appraised for their overblown performances, having managed to deliver the intensity of a live show through their studio albums and "New revelation" once again verifies that ability of theirs. It just so happens that the compositions are not quite at the same level as the preceding album ("Astralism") or the following ("Requiem of time"). It is mostly identifiable on the lyrics that slightly lack by "Astral Door" standards. In addition while the band retains its characteristic `aggression' throughout, not all choruses come out as large as you would expect.

There is no disputing that "New revelation" holds standout material namely "Cold war survivor", "Freedom war" and "Waiting for the master" but having set so high standards for themselves, nothing less than perfect will do for this band. "New Revelation" is a solid metal album from a passionate band which unfortunately falls rather short in comparison to the rest of their catalogue.

Amazing. Buy it. Nils Patrik Johannsen is possibly the best vocalist alive... At least the best power metal vocalist.

CD, arrived in reasonable amount of time given the holiday season and in good condition. Haven't listened to CD, it was a gift, but it looked good.
