3.0 out of 5 stars I really can't recommend this book., December 24, 2011

This review is from: The New Savage Number: How Much Money Do You Really Need to Retire (Paperback)
The title of the book, The New Savage Number, how much money do you really need to retire, strangely enough does not answer the question. That is my first beef , then my second beef is that I really didnt learn anything except the long term insurance part and later I will give you my problem with that part. If you read any kind of book about finances, you don't need to read this book. I got excited about the long term insurance basically because I never really considered it. Then, i did some research read , Long term insurance book by Nolo and they said that long term insurance is a very expensive gamble- the book lets you decide for yourself but it makes it clear, that it is a LTC gamble, for instance, the book stated that 25% of claims in California for LTC was denied because of some small fine print.
And in 20-30 years anything could happen, laws will change, insurance Companies can and would raise premiums. And the average care is three years , if you put the 200-300 dollars in the bank, you have a better chance of paying for your care with some money left over.

I was really looking forward to reading this book and I was really disappointed.
