5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning technique and breathtaking solos, January 18, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: New Art Saxophone Quartet (Audio CD)
A very moving and musical quartet. Their interpretation is top notch, and they play off of each other well, picking up the nuances where the previous player has left off. The Bryars is exceptional, with an amazing amount of control in multiphonics and other extended saxophone techniques, and it ends with an absoulutely breathtaking bari sax solo in a haunting Irish-sounding lament. A beautiful and well done cd, a must have for any sax quartet collection.
