Fascinating and comprehensive, December 23, 2010
This review is from: The New Science of Dreaming [3 volumes] (Hardcover)
I am by no means an expert in neuroscience (I'm actually a music major), but I checked out Volumes 1 and 2 from my university library, and I found the writing surprisingly perspicuous (for the most part) and consistently interesting. If you're doing any sort of research project on dreams, interdisciplinary or otherwise, these volumes are a great place to start. For instance, the chapter entitled "Realistic Simulation and Bizarreness in Dream Context" in Volume 2 cited useful references for primary case studies while giving a cogent summary of key points. In other words, the books can be stand-alone or reference, depending on how deeply you intend to delve into your research. I highly recommend The New Science of Dreaming. Enjoy!
