This book will be the classic everyone will be searching for in the future. I truly enjoyed this book and have read it several times and now use it as a reference to share with others. Anyone, who has or plans to get a Scottish Terrier should own this book. The book covers the history of the breed, the contemporary Scottie, health, care, showing, breeding, and a great explanation of the standard. This book is a must have.

This book was absolutely wonderful. It was a pleasure to read and it will get much use in the years to come. I always refer back to the chapters on care, feeding and grooming. I have discussed some of the issues in the health chapter with my vet. The chapter on showing a scottish terrier has peaked my interest in possibly showing sometime in the future. A 'must-have' for any owner of a scottish terrier!

With "the new Scottish Terrier," author cindy Cooks continues to contribute to this breed's notariety in this country. These are special dogs, and her love of the breed comes through loud and clear in every chapter.

Non-owners of Scottish Terriers, or those considering "stepping up" to this breed will find a trove of useful information here, beginning with a concise history of the breed, and continuing through the Scottie's inroads and developments in America. Breeders and handlers will likewise find a hoard of useful information, as will "regular folks" who adore the breed.

It's a good read, and a bargain at its current price. If you're a Scottie Lover, or even considering this breed, you owe it to yourself to check this out.

Cindy Cooke has done a fantastic job of introducing the history of the breed for its readers, incuding outstanding Kennels and the people behind them. The author has covered every aspect of the scottie in this book and I highly reccommend it to any person captivated by this wonderful breed.

My mom got a new scotty for Mother's Day. Someone recommended this book and I was glad to find it on Amazon. My mom and dad have gotten lots of neat tips from this book. We love the breed and reading about it!

Cindy is most knowledgeable about the breed, the Scottish Terrier, and is a co-owner of Anstamm Kennels in Michigan, one of the foremost breeders of the Scottish Terrier in the U.S. They have been successful breeders of Scotties for over 40 years...Cindy has put a lot of time and work into this book...she chronicles the breed from its beginning, and she highlights notable breeders in the United States....If you want to learn MORE about the Scottish Terrier...from start to finish, and be able to UNDERSTAND the lingo, buy Cindy's book...I highly recommend it!!!

I just received the book and I couldn't put it down until I finished reading it! I enjoyed reading about the past and recent history of the breed. As a proud new owner of a scottie, I find the information specific to the care of a Scottish Terrier very, very helpful!
