This review is from: New Seekers - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This is really another re-package of earlier CD's - but this one includes some early album tracks featuring Peter Doyle - a sad loss to music. It also has the hard-to-find German version of 'Beg, Steal Or Borrow' ('Oh, Ich...'). Other stand-outs are:'For You We Sing' - not a great song, but very hard to find, so a must for serious collectors;'Circles' is a live version from the 'Albert Hall Concert' album; 'Nickel Song' (1st time on CD); plus the great album tracks 'Idaho', ' Boom Town', and 'Sing Out' (one of '72's 'Songs For Eorope') This CD has the 'classic' New Seekers line-up which featured Lyn Paul, the only member to go on to solo success (She's starred in 'Blood Brothers', Boy George's 'Taboo' and now 'Emmerdale'!)As usual, the vocals are faultless, and, this CD sounds sharper than earlier releases. Who do we have to pester to get the New Seekers/Lyn Paul back catalogue issued on CD? A well-recommended purchase - if you like/liked the New Seekers, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy.
