It's a shame that the world hasn't heard Cynthia Wilson-Felder's voice. She's got spiritual verve, clever interpretations, incredible breath control and fresh movements. This collection is exciting, soothing and edifying! (This was Moses Dillard's last musical effort. Jesse Boyce jams, too!) I'm purchasing another copy for my son and younger friends so they'll know their musical heritage. Don't let this valuable piece of music escape your ears. You'll wear it out and, I hope, pass it on! This is one gift the world needs NOW!

In days of old, the "griots "were responsible for ensuring their history was known by telling the stories of their past to the younger generations and the older.Cynthia is a modern day "griot" for the songs of zion.Her songs both inspire and remind me of my past and of the importance of remembering the beauty of these songs and their message.Thank you Cynthia!

This is not my usual musical fare, but every now and then, when I feel the need to be re-grounded in my Baptist roots, I fall back on Cynthia Wilson-Felder's New Songs of Zion. While her arrangements are new, they capture enough of the Old Time Religion to keep tradition alive. Her vocal excellence and the project's high production standards only add to the richness of the experience. I wish she had other CDs out!

Cynthia's voice is terrific. Several of the song arrangements on the CD are super but not enough of them to make this CD a 5-star.
