you like classic rock ala elvis, jerry lee lewis and bill haley thias is right up your alley but serious p funk fans like myself will be thrilled to know that george clinton from parliament-funkadelic fame sings on here sinc e george loves doo wop he sings whole lotta shakin in concert to this day.

I want to pinch myself every time I think of it, but Johnny Powers is MY REAL Uncle Johnny!!! Obviously, you will be getting a very biased review here; but regardless of the fact that Johnny Powers is my uncle, this is GREAT, FUN, GOOD-FEELING MUSIC you'll want to hear over and over again! His opening cover of the Travelling Wilburys' "Rattled" is incredible, and the last four tracks on this album are PHENOMENALLY COOL, two being played with George Clinton (yes, the very same George Clinton of Parliament and Funkadelic) and two played with George Bedard. Of course, all the stuff in between is worthy of repeated listening, singin-along-with, and toe-tapping too. ALL of Uncle Johnny's music is great, but "New Spark" remains my favorite of all!

Being able to hear Uncle Johnny play in person on many occasions, I can say that this album captures the true spirit of this man and his music. Uncle Johnny loves life, loves music, loves his wife, his family, and his friends. He is at home and in his natural element when surrounded by a group of musicians who share his zeal for the good life of being together with friends and family, sharing good times, playing music, and singing along. Nothing here but good, down-home, raw, fun-loving rockabilly music (much along the lines of Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, and even the Great One, Elvis). This music is stuff you can really feel!

Uncle Johnny, KEEP ON ROCKING!!! We love you and Aunt D. the MOST, but we love your music too!!!
