This review is from: New Steve Cotter Book and DVD Combo - The Complete Guide to Kettlebell Lifting (Misc.)
Lovely glossy guide containing every exercise you will ever need, however if you are new to kettlebell lifting you will need another resource as this book offers very little in the way of teaching points. The book consists of a series of photographs accompanied by a sentence explaining the movement, the DVD is a silent demonstation of each lift.
This book is great for people who have been training with kettlebells for a while and are looking for exercise variations and way to make their exercises more difficult until they can afford a heavier bell. It is a quick reference when looking to target areas of the body, chapters are divided into chapters for upperbody, lower body, core and advanced lifts offering some extremely demanding exercises. I think the book would benefit from a couple of ideas on how to build a programme, eg. which exercises, sets + reps for strength, endurance ect. In summary good book it is, complete it is not beginners who cannot find an instructor should look to find a good DVD, Enter the kettlebell covers a few lifts in detail.

Steve Cotter provides a fantastic graphic outline of the different movements in KB lifting. The book provides instruction through pictures of many different moves, ranging from beginner to advanced. It is very useful as a guide, particularly if you have a quick question or need a reminder on how to do a lift. I wouldn't use this book as a basis for setting up a KB routine, but as stated right in the preface: "this book is a guide and a resource." A great resource at that!

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in kettlebells. Very informative with great descriptions on how to properly do these exercises. I love Pavel's books on kettlebells but, found them a little lacking in instruction. Steve Cotter is an excellent teacher on kettlebell exercises. He makes it very easy to understand and provides plenty of pictures of each move at its various stages. Tons of variations, logically put together, all in all just a great product. Cotter's kettlebell DVDs are also top notch.

I think Steve Cotter has created the definitive kettlebell product with this. It always helps to have multiple resources but if you could have only one, then make it this one.
