What a wonderful Jazz CD from a young talent! I received this as a gift, and I was blown away right from the first piece. The improvising is expressive and dynamic, and the ensemble playing is tight! If you love great straight ahead jazz, you'll love this CD.
The combination of the Heath Brothers (Jimmy on soprano sax and Tootie on Drums) with Jeb Patton on piano and David Wong on bass is exceptional as you can hear the experience blend with the youthful exuberance. Try to see them live if you can!

I have had the privelege of hearing Jeb Patton perform live several times in New York City and in Maryland. He is an amazing pianist/artist! His articulation, technique and expressiveness at the piano create such an intimate, yet welcoming sound; one doesn't need to "try" to get into the music - his playing naturally draws you in without being intrusive. There's a sense of serenity and passion in his playing - a rare combination, I find.
