Very good Bible edition with generally excellent commentary,

I will start by saying that I own three copies of this Bible. The only thing that keeps me from giving this edition of the Bible an absolute "10" is that the commentary is occasionally theologically squishy. For example, I would have preferred even a "moderate" stand on the question of abortion when commenting on Psalm 139. Other than this, the commentary is excellent with page-length summaries of each book, frequent short treatments (occasionally half-page length) showing the absolute relevance of scripture passages to modern situations, and several plans to help the student read the Bible. It is excellent for somebody who is not a Bible expert but just wants to know what the Bible teaches
