A good dictionary for ESL students,
By A Customer
This review is from: New Student's Dictionary (Paperback)
This dictionary helps eSL students learn the most common words used in the English language. The definition is given in simple terms. Then it is used in a sentence, so that the students can see how it is used. Also, the book breaks every word down in to phrsal expressions. That when when a student is looking up something such as get to it, it explains it well.

"Handy 1 ADJ Something that is 'handy' is useful.",
By Aline Brandão "Prudence" (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Collins Cobuild New Student's Dictionary. (Lernmaterialien) (Paperback)
A great tool for everyone who is learning English as a second language, assuming the student is in a level high enough to understand the meaning of a word without depending on direct translation. It's especially helpful in learning how to use prepositions and verbs in a sentence.(I checked it at least twice while I wrote this review, so beware of addiction!) |
